Deol is retired out for 47 off 37 to bevreplaced by Chloe Tryon. Poor decision by a guy who doesn't know these players.

Loving Ricky Ponting's rant about batters not coming out to field when they no legitimate reason not to field.
Umpires need to stop teams "resting" these players or replacing poor fielders with good ones.

@bbcnewsnight.bsky.social

Lately I see that NATO is described as Nato. Careless typing like this must make others, not just me, wonder if you take the same careless approach to news gathering. I do hope not. Sky can get it right and I suggest you would be offended if others started typing Bbc!

Well I could if I pay a one-off fee but thought it not worth it out of season. Was getting fed up when I keep hearing "the most wonderful time of the year". Makes no sense when it's not the cricket season...

Notting Hill must be the best romcom ever made. The walk through the market covering 4 seasons is cinematic genius. Watch Julia Roberts face when Grant declines her offer. No words but one of the finest pieces of screen acting you will ever see... My other half would vote for the 'brownie' scene.

I have just spent 25 mins on line trying to top up my pay as you go phone account only to be told (several times) that I can't read a 6 digit number. Seems business is booming as firms are very reluctant to take money from you!

They refused to cancel my sister's subscription after she died. "We have to speak to the account holder!" I told them if they could find out how to do that then please let me know as I'd like to speak to her again too!

Excellent piece.

If all 4 can play, as I suspect it will be, it's a bloody disaster.....

Like so many government policies these days, it blithely assumes that a poor person is just a rich person with a smaller limit on their Amex!

Bears secure services of Mary Taylor - Edgbaston Warwickshire County Cricket Club have secured the signing of talented all-rounder Mary Taylor on a two-year deal from Hampshire.

Rumours that @rafnicholson.bsky.social will be opening the bowling for Hampshire next season! 🏏

The only way this would be more accurate is if you removed the words "like Rockstar"!

Also… if you are a man in employment in the private sector in the UK/US the biggest act of feminism you can do is tell your colleagues your salary.

More money for the NHS; social services not stretched to breaking point; the abolition of the 2 child limit; and a better country to live in - it’s these things… right?

A view of the cricket ground at Wimborne in Dorset. The groundskeeper can be seen making some repairs to an old pitch, some players are visible warming up, and in the background the umpires are standing by the pavilion and scoreboard ready to come onto the field for the toss.

I was putting the big lens away for winter and wondered what my statistics were for 2025, so I checked:

🏏 I took photos at 25 games
🏏 I saw 8995 runs scored
🏏 I saw 368 wickets taken
🏏 I saw 7 new teams
🏏 I went to 10 new locations

Already looking forward to 2026!

I remember that 199* very well, absolutely superb innings. We tried to convince the umpire the last ball went for 6 rather than 4 (it wasn't far short) but we had no luck. The other innings produced a brilliant knock from Claire Taylor!!! It was a day the bowlers will be happy to forget...

Can you tell me why you allow the expression "up to" in adverts when it is almost always completely misleading, even if indeed the expression has any meaning at all except to say "this is the top figure you can expect", and we all know the answer will be much smaller!
