Let’s be clear: Any Democrat who votes to fund Trump’s illegal war with Iran is voting for Trump’s illegal war.

CBS obtained video of the DHS killing of an unarmed man in Texas that DHS concealed for nearly a year, which clearly contradicts claims that he violently rammed anyone. He is shot with his brake lights on, car not moving or barely moving. Another DHS crime.
MAGA confronts it‘s biggest challenge invading Iran - geography.
NEWS: A Justice Dept. line attorney in North Carolina fabricated quotes in court filing, causing judge to order hearing to consider sanctions and holding entire US attorney’s office jointly responsible.

So now Trump, with Messi and Miami's soccer team standing behind him, now openly tells the world that Cuba is next after Iran.
*A war crime committed with a computer, is simply a war crime*
If the media is confused, the law is quite clear: bombing a grade-school with children inside is mass murder- all the way up the chain of command to the White House.
“Alberto Gutierrez was a devoted husband, a loving father, and the main source of support for his family. On Jan 9th he was detained by ICE in Echo Park…”
Shame on GOP officials enabling this. No excuses.

Ironically, this cowardly failure to act, and visible lack of empathy - for their own neighbors - was so outrageous, it is only going to galvanize people to speak out more and more.

To get a job as an analyst at the NSA, applicants are now required to identify their favorite executive orders.
The “shield” is intolerable here as well.
“Parents tried to shield their children from water. Instead they died of dehydration.”
That’s what the @nytimes.com headline here says. Both “shield” and “instead” appallingly reinforce anti-vax attitudes and frames.
These are not the words of a national leader or professional soldier. ThIs is a freshman during fraternity rush hoping to impress and slowly summoning his own erection in the process.
Im not sure the framers - or hell even the rubber stamp Congress of 2002-2003 envisioned a militarized federal police, rambling about US cities in armed vehicles
Helpful explainer. There is a reason Ice unlawful arrest and detainer practices have been subject to so much litigation- and one key reason for cities revolting from federal overreach.
And also…
But the good news is that these voices are pretty much gone now and/or they are getting drowned out by the hundreds of thousands of people on the streets demanding ICE to get out of their cities and yes, abolished. /6

As elected officials begin to _follow the lead_ of their constituents in the streets, there will be more and more pressure on local officials to use every lever of power they can to protect their communities from ICE lawlessness. /2
In 2017, there was huge splash of sub-federal legislation to protect people from ICE. This time (in part due to some wrongheaded thinking by the consultant class in DC), legislation is percolating slowly. Nevertheless, a race to top dynamic is emerging. #ICEOUT

This bill would close a loophole in state law and prevent local and state law enforcement from taking side jobs with ICE, DHS, or other entities, like private corporations, engaged in abducting our neighbors. We are proud to co-sponsor this bill 2/
Breaking: AB 1537 by Asm. Isaac Bryan, the No Side Jobs for ICE Act, has PASSED out of the Assembly Public Safety Committee!
Thank you to Asm. Bryan @ib2real.bsky.social, to the committee members who voted “aye,” and all who supported! 1/
It's ominous that you can read entire pieces about what the US stands to gain/lose from this war that don't contain a single syllable about the damage to democracy that will be done by letting Trump illegally launch the largest invasion in decades without Congress having input of any kind.
Some Dems are getting this right. But Schumer and others are saying Trump must merely divulge more details about the Iran threat. This implies there might be a legitimate case for war that Trump just has to be more open about. There's zero reason to grant that. 3/

wild to me that the expectation isn't "if your party switches from the majority to the minority, then your leaders did bad and they should all step down"
The only thing you need to know is what's highlighted here.
We are attacking Iran because we believe can with zero accountability. It’s fucking disgusting. And so many of our leaders — in both parties, by the way — are applauding this.
The people of Iran are the ones who determine their fate. The U.S. and Israel’s obsession with regime change is abhorrent.
So is Altman a rube or does he just think we are all rubes?
