Plaid Cymru is calling for the billions of funding weโre owed as well as full control over Welsh rail so that we can put an end to this farce.

One thing that hasn't changed is the UK medias inability to say a word as simple as "Cymru" correctly. Is it unfair to expect political editors and presenters to learn the same way they happily go native saying "Macron" or "Taoiseach"

Treasury minister tells Wales to "be grateful" for the money given to it over rail funding.
It shows total disconnect with reality.
For the record, the Treasury's own figures show Wales is getting ยฃ350m compared to Scotland's ยฃ4bn!
Oh it just gets better! So the UK Gov funding for the already announced woefully low impact Cardiff central upgrade is coming out of the ยฃ445m!

ยฃ445m over *10 years* is only a TENTH of the *billions* we're owed on HS2 - not even accounting the historic underinvestment of Welsh rail. ๐ค

So the ยฃ445m is over 10 years ... so not really paying us back for the historic underfunding just doing the bare minimum we should expect over the next 10 years.
25 minutes in and a single mention of Wales so far re Port Talbot (nothing new just a name drop) ... about 10 re Scotland. There is no passion down there to even throw Welsh Labour a bone. Let's see how much she says about rail might be lucky to get 2 mentions.
Labour frantically spinning the ยฃ445m rail funding hoping the people of Wales are too stupid to remember the ยฃ4bn owed to us because of HS2, the ยฃ300m+ we're denied because of the Cambridge-Oxford line, let alone the decades of chronic under investment.

ยฃ445m for heavy rail improvements (what the UK gov is in most part responsible for anyway as its not devolved and have underfunded for years so not really extra cash) so I'm assuming we'll see a nice big consequential from the "light" rail announcements last week too?

If UK can pay Wales less through Barnett, use Barnett (e.g. public sector NI increases)
