Out of curiosity what are you looking for in the "simple" language. C99 is pretty simple to learn compared to most languages. Does it have to pass through another high level language? Something like Nim might work if it is ok that it goes straight to machine code without passing through C or Rust
NEW: you can't refuse to be scanned by ICE's new facial recognition app, according to internal DHS document 404 Media obtained. Photos taken by the app are stored for 15 years, including of U.S. citizens. We've published the full document here: www.404media.co/you-cant-ref...
With the current state of things, I finally got around to getting a membership with @eff.org and could not be more chuffed with the sticker they sent me in my welcome letter
Such a shame that there is no way for a non-technical person to get a PC or smart phone without giving one of these companies money. For the technically minded, Linux on a Dell is easy enough. But for smartphones it's that much harder, even graphene OS mostly runs on Google Pixel devices
If you have access to one, a laser cutter would probably let you make the light guide boards out of plastic for quite a bit cheaper. Especially if you need 80-160 of them
Incredible turnout at the #NoKings rally in Philadelphia. What a beautiful sight! #NoKingsDay
If you are going to a No Kings protest this weekend, be sure to review our Surveillance Self Defense guide for attending a protest and bring Rayhunter along for the ride! ssd.eff.org/module/atte.... eff.org/rayhunter.

(The 'slave' mode is a protocol I RE'd from the original EGS if you set a bit on EEPROM, used for EOL testing of the unit on the production line)
Yeah, that feels like something that could be a non-breaking change down the line if the need arises
Is it possible for a node to not be at the lowest level of the network tree? Could a house be in a neighborhood but not a specific street. Maybe a null address shard could be considered local to that shard i.e. 9800023 in your example would be node 23 in the 98 neighborhood but no specific street
The only unknowns that immediately come to mind; what happens if a street has 100 homes but needs to add one more. Does each address space (street, neighborhood, city) have to know the number of nodes/sub-networks it will have to interact with ahead of time or is that hard coded in the system design
This is definitely the most level headed coverage I've seen of the story from a major outlet, thanks for sharing
The equipment they seized seems identical to the equipment presented in this helpful how to on running a sim farm from a website that is just out there, on the first page of google results
I'm seeing articles about the recent Secret Service SIM farm bust with scary quotes about shutting down all cell service, tying it to the UN meetings, or saying it must be a nation state intelligence operation. A quick google though shows the same tools being used to farm social media accounts
It's the first emoji I bring in for any new slack I'm added to

New from 404 Media: airlines are selling *5 billion* ticketing records to the government for warrantless searching, per new docs we obtained. ARC is a data broker owned by United, American, Delta, etc. Then sells peoples' travel info to ICE, Secret Service, FBI etc www.404media.co/airlines-sel...
