This is the second time in a week I have heard someone pit trans identity against working class struggle. It's a false dichotomy ultimately serving conservative identity politics. What's in the air?

Doesn't it depend on how we define the words self and individual? 19th c. modern definitions are being radically challenged as we increasingly understand each human to be an ecosystem embedded within ecosystems, against the Enlightenment definition of the rational or possessive individual.
