The fire at Glasgow central station is utterly devastating. Shops, homes and our transport link to England are being wiped out.
I am amazed by the limited news coverage.

Ahead of this week’s London Book Fair, I dreamed last night that I ran into two longstanding publishing friends there, and spent about half an hour waiting in a queue for drinks. An unusually naturalistic dream.

Top two thirds: an almost relentlessly blue sky, except for a tiny cloud in the middle at the bottom. Bottom third, a blue loch, with a man in a boat at the far left. Between these two, a few millimetres of land. On which stands Linlithgow Palace.

Between a couple of bouts of feeding back on a student job application, I went to Linlithgow and took advantage of the sunshine.

(I’ve inadvertently made that last bit sound seedy, haven’t it? It should have been “I took advantage of the sunshine to visit Linlithgow.”)

Good point: experience of playing with thirteen would certainly come in useful!

It might be kinder to relegate England and Wales and let some stronger teams in next year, like Withernsea under-elevens.
