Published paper proving that #ChatGPT will always make things up.

Not sometimes. Not until the next update. Always. They proved it with math.

Even with perfect data and unlimited computing power, AI models will still confidently tell you things that are completely false.

The ‘murky’ world of GP finance

This is an example of a 10,000 Patient practice

Average patient will have 7 GP practice appts/year, 1 A&E attendance every 3 years, 2 hospital appts/year

£169/patient/year goes GP
£3079 goes to hospitals

£40pa would solve GP crisis

Why can’t GP practices as independent providers provide ‘Pharmacy FIRST’ ?

£1000 for 30 a month plus £17 per consult

Or BP monitoring £10 for every check
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring £50.85

Currently GPs get…..

This sums up the new ‘imposed’ GP contract
@drkatie.bsky.social clearly tells @gponline.bsky.social
what the problems are

I will add it’s less than £1.50 per patient per year extra funding

GP practice need £40-£50 to return to 2016 funding

This year @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social imposed a new GP contract

Provided an extra £1.50 to uncap the number of calls or requests per day & stand by the phone or computer

And if the job isn’t completed within 24hours the GP will be sanctioned

Job specifications below - can’t see a problem🤷🏻‍♂️

If I was a Consultant in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust….I would be asking the CEO to resign over this #Palantir

Let’s really ‘Bring back the Family Doctor’ Wes Streeting with a real patient focused contract & real funding to make it happen
Patients want to see GPs & GPs want to see patients

Your GP, here for you - time to make it happen, it’s in your hands

GPs get paid a fixed amount for an ‘all you can use buffett’ £123 per patient per year

@rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social would rather spend Tax payers money on more expensive options

Pharmacies have had serious underfunding but these fees show how poorly GP practices are funded

Fund both

Sadly the new GP Contract provided just £1.50 per patient per year of additional funding

The Govt & Wes Streeting have raised your expectations

However they won’t help patients get better care

We need more GPs & more funding

This is the new reality speak to GPs

Urgent?

Dr Doyle ‘strongly resisted’ including a definition in the contract of what is ‘clinically urgent’ as this is up to practices to determine
I think you all know exactly what’s clinically urgent and what isn’t. There’s lots of things that might be “soon”

Why are more GPs opting to work outside the NHS? More doctors and patients are turning to the private sector as demand increases pressure on the NHS.

In the five years to the end of 2025, the CQC received 1,238 new registrations for "independent consulting doctors" in England, compared with 396 in the previous five years – a 212% increase.
Between 2024 and 2025, new registrations rose by 58%.

GP Referrals cannot be blocked by NHS Trusts due to Jess’s Rule

england.nhs.uk/long-read/jess…

The new GP contract stipulation of the use of Advice & Guidance pre-referral is null and void

Add to any referral ‘In accordance with Jess’s Rule & Patient choice’ #TeamGP

Thoughts?
