Not new, true since at least Vietnam and why avoiding college debt is not a valid reason to enlist. Also big reasons why you have to be a massive mark or true believer to join. I live in a military town and am sick of entitled vets so I'm not gonna be polite to a former intelligence analyst.
Most don't fall for the brainwashing is the thing. It's why the military constantly struggles to recruit, and the poor are actually underrepresented. Basically, you're a verbose moron. Spam out 1000 character replies to multiple people to justify the vet shit in your bio. Hit dog hollering.
They could have gotten any other dumb teenager job though. Forget imperialism, a teenager can understand that a soldier kills and a retail worker doesn't and they chose killing as a career.
