a digital illustration of a hunched-over figure ont heir hands and knees with a dark background. The figure has blonde hair and a long tan trenchcoat. their face is fully obscured as they bend over a splatter of blood ont he floor, pushing themselves up on clawed pale hands. Above the figure, there is a drawing of a clawed red hand holding a the same pale figure curled up in its palm. Viscous liquid dripping down from it. At the top of the page, there are two beige-coloured hounds curling in on themselves in agonised positions. One is curling forward with its tongue curling out and the other is biting at its own side. There are three small paragraphs of text in red ink and a typewriter style font reading: "A Thing, touched by the hand of the beast", "Something rotting, marked, wretched, coiling and writhing behind each of their ribs", "Planted there by the ichor-slick-black-dripping hand of the Devil"
"Devil's Left Hand"

anyways, art is great. art is way more than a beautiful picture. art is growth, art is progress, art is problem solving, art is self discovery, art is self worth, art is identity, art is survival, art is struggle, art is passion, art is a diary, art is history. Art is how we remember us.
it doesnt matter how your art looks, it doesnt matter if its polished, if its "pretty" to everyone who views it, if it serves you, it serves you. if you crave creation, all u need is to create for YOURSELF. ur allowed 2 have fun making something thats ugly. it doesnt matter how it looks bc u made it
art is where u can allow urself to experiment, draw anything, try everything, express anything from thoughts, emotions to interests. its ur own kind of safe space to explore and grow in thats wholly and completely yours in ways few other things in life can ever be. dont ever take that from yourself.
its like, problem solving your own problems, finding your own solutions based on your own issues and then seeing real progress from that. its just so rejuvenating and the rough times where things dont look right are so worth it for that, even if art can feel hard sometimes (imo). like its this space
i dont think anything will ever compare 2 the way it feels to figure out a new drawing style, or how to do something in a way that works more for me. i used 2 look at how other people do stuff to learn when i was younger (i.e. draw lace) but its always end up feeling like putting on som1 elses shoes
in conclusion: brain, let me rest, its sad. π§ββ‘οΈ
its like they keep feeding themselves the dishwater if creativity, addictively almost and i just wish they would wake up because anything their own mind and body would create is worth so much more than the dilution of their own self
people feeling defensive & protective over the prompts they typed, desperate to be creative and to be recognized. too scared to be imperfect and thus entirely robbing themselves of growth, the feeling of accomplishment, learning, expression, self discovery, CONFIDENCE gained over time.
sad.
it to themselves, in the way that people who draw, draw for themselves just for the expression of it or exploration of thoughts i think. so the act of "being an artist" to a lot of those people is entirely linked to public perception and reception & self worth, seeking validation. resulting in
the fear (often for men due to societal standards) to be new to something, to not be good at something bc it often equals loss of self worth is a problem 100% linked ro causing all these people to fall prey to these companies selling this as an easy solution. noone using gen-ai keeps the outcome of-
the overlap of alpha male rhetorics &"return of investment" speech to gen-ai, capitalism and fast user approval paced social media showcasing mostly super polished artwork, brainwashing ppl into forgetting that art is made to be a product instead of art having historically been a means of expression
tonights 2amadhd is writing a dissertation in my head about how gen-ai creating people are genuinely so desperate to create but are cheating themselves, chasing a short term fix in the way you drink coffee to not feel sleepy but if you never sleep, you never rest -aka will thus never feel fulfilled.
Finished my queue & needing to take a couple more! Bring me your elves, your tieflings, your beloved creatures ποΈπ€
