Now, granted, I filed this request some time ago; much of what I was curious about has already come out in testimony and court documents. And there may be a vagary of the state's public-records law I'm overlooking here.
But you better believe I'm looking!
A postscript: Yesterday I received a reply to a records request I'd filed for Louisiana's emails with Alabama's Department of Corrections since nitrogen gas was authorized. I'm told there are no responsive "public, non-privileged documents."
Really? Not a single email? www.wwno.org/wwno/2025-03...

Louisiana carried out its first execution in 15 years Tuesday, killing Jessie Hoffman Jr. with a new nitrogen gas method that unlatches possibilities for the state to someday carry out the sentences of 55 people living on death row.

Louisiana will execute Jessie Hoffman Jr. this evening.
It'll be the first time the state has executed someone in 15 years and will be the first time they've used nitrogen gas to do it.
Here's a thread of @kstromquist.bsky.social work for the Gulf States Newsroom & @wwno.org covering this so far
