I always love meeting with the dedicated volunteers, organizers, and leaders of Blue Brigade in Lansing. This group knows our economic prosperity and our rights and freedoms are on the line. I’m ready to fight alongside them and build a people-powered movement that delivers for the people.
Michigan women are a force. We are the leaders in our workplaces, the champions of our families, and the drivers of our economy. We lead with strength, govern with compassion, and fight with unwavering determination for a future where anyone can thrive. Happy Women’s History Month, Michigan!
One of the biggest issues on Michigan families’ minds? Housing. Sitting down with leaders in Grand Rapids, we discussed how to address the housing crisis and make homes more affordable.
I met with Black business owners and heard from entrepreneurs about what it takes to grow in today’s economy.
We talked about breaking down barriers that get in the way of growth. As governor, I will work to ensure every entrepreneur has a fair shot at success and the support they need to grow.
West Michigan is lucky to have @hillaryscholten.bsky.social fighting for them in Congress, and I’m lucky to have her on Team Benson. Let’s go win!
Thank you to everyone who came out tonight in Grand Rapids to welcome @scholten.house.gov to Team Benson. Let’s go!
My affordable housing plan:
✅ Stops corporations from pricing families out of their neighborhoods
✅ Cracks down on predatory out-of-state landlords
✅ Makes it faster and easier to build more homes, so supply goes up and costs come down.

Housing costs are soaring, and it’s getting harder for Michigan families to find a place to call home.
This is outrageous. Stop the rate hikes.
Michigan needs modern, reliable, accessible transportation that connects people, places, and jobs. That’s why I want to build a statewide high-speed rail network to link communities, spur economic growth, and expand access to well-paying jobs.

I started my career in Montgomery, Alabama, because I wanted to learn from those who marched and bled to demand our country live up to its constitutional promise. Now the baton is passed to us, and we must ask: what will we do to honor and carry on the work of those who’ve gone before us?
I’ve spent time on the picket lines talking to nurses at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital who are on strike right now. These nurses want to go back to work. They want to serve and heal. All they ask for is something basic and fair: safe conditions that allow them to care for their patients effectively.
Tonight, I was proud to watch Governor Whitmer reflect on how far Michigan has come. We have made so much progress, but I also know there is still work to be done to make sure Michigan is the best place to be a kid, raise a kid, and call home.
For 177 days, nurses at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital have been on strike. Why? Because they’re asking for safe and fair working conditions. They are asking for patient safety, protections from burnout, and assurances that the people who care for us will have what they need to do their job well.
Too often, insurance companies stand between patients and their doctors, second-guessing care and denying necessary coverage. Decisions about treatment should be made in exam rooms, not corporate boardrooms. As governor, I’ll make sure Michigan’s health care system prioritizes people over profits.
Governors are the guardrails for our rights and our freedoms. They’re the leaders who set the direction for our state, lower costs, and expand real economic opportunity so more people can access well-paying jobs.
That’s what I’ve done as Secretary of State, and it’s what I’ll do as governor.
I love being out on the trail and meeting the people I do this work for. Michigan, you’re the reason💙
Bringing the jobs of tomorrow to Michigan and protecting our environment can and must go hand in hand.
Michigan has an opportunity to get this right. Let’s lead the nation in showing we can be pro-growth, pro-water, and pro-labor.
Today, let’s honor his legacy by getting into some “Good Trouble” that he called on each of us to carry forward, and fight back against nationwide threats to the ballot box.
On what would have been John Lewis’ 86th birthday, I am reminded of his perseverance, courage, and incredible sacrifices. His life and work inspire me — and so many others — to commit our lives to protecting the right to vote and continuing his march for justice.
I’m hopeful this decision will keep the focus on plans and legislation that lower costs at the grocery store and the gas pump, protect jobs and workers, and strengthen our economy.
Today’s Supreme Court decision is welcome news for Michigan families and makes clear what too many already know: blanket, reckless tariffs that raise costs on everyday life are not working.
When healthcare is accessible and affordable, families are stronger, local hospitals stay open, and our communities are healthier.
As governor, I’ll help build a system that shows up for you when you need it and makes your right to quality healthcare real.
Every marathon I run reminds me that if we put one foot in front of the other, we’re capable of more than we ever thought possible. That’s exactly how I’m running this campaign: one conversation after another and one city at a time as we build momentum to make Michigan the best place to call home.
Facts matter. Only U.S. citizens are able to vote in Michigan’s elections, and we’ve been nationally recognized for our work to ensure that’s the case. Full stop.

As Secretary of State, I can confidently assure you that only U.S. citizens can vote, and I take that seriously. Our reviews consistently show non-citizen voting is rare. The law is clear, safeguards are strong, and violations carry real consequences.
Wishing a peaceful Ramadan to all who observe across Michigan. This is a sacred season of reflection and generosity. May this month bring you good health and time to be present with the people you love.
His courage moved millions and inspired so many of us to keep fighting for a fairer, more inclusive America. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who carry his legacy forward.
Today we mourn the loss of a true champion for justice and equality. Reverend Jesse Jackson devoted his life to expanding the promise of our democracy and lifting up voices long ignored.
