From my understanding, Weather channel uses a mix of AWS and IBM cloud.

It’s not just retail. Amazon is much bigger than that. They are the most dominant cloud provider. Disney, GE, Comcast, Netflix, Apple, Thr Guardian, Spotify, and more use Amazon’s Web services.

You’d be surprised which companies use Amazon Web/cloud services for hosting their websites. My employer uses them for some of our applications and over 12 million people in the USA use our services.

Unfortunately Amazon has its claws in almost everything. A lot of websites are hosted on Amazon cloud services. Apps are being developed using Amazon tools. It’s not just an online retail site.
