We have a ghost cat. It occasionally jumps up on our bed.

It reminds me of watching people go up to paintings at the Louvre and taking pictures of them with their cell phone and moving on. Not really looking at them. Not at all. Just checking one more painting off their list.

Tonya Harding was punished for being considered coarse and dare i say white trash. She never stood a chance.

I was. I remember a few cool classes, like puppet making, and stop action film making.

It's time to remind them that Stephen King has taught us best: even monsters bleed.

call me the crest of a wave or the shriek of a barn owl, call me tired or strange or unruly, call me up when you’re down
call me a tin of the shortbread you keep hidden away for tuesday afternoons, call me a glimmer a glowing ember or the way we hold our breath before blowing out birthday candles

This. Exactly this. I had arguments with my narrow-minded conservative older brother for exactly this reason. His daughters were listening.

I sold birthday cards to Donna Summer back in 1983.

My husband had the cast of Letterkenny in his Uber car and they comped us tickets to their show.

It was actually cheaper to order it from Blackwells, than from Amazon. I'm going that route from now on, so thanks for that.

My great grandparents immigrated from Germany to North Dakota in 1901. Immigrants come from many wonderful countries, not just the few he mentioned. He's such a wanker.

It's been a while since I had read any of her books, but each one has been a delightful experience. I'd probably start with Practical Magic. It's a classic, and was made into a well loved movie.

I'm reading Turtle Moon by Alice Hoffman, and it's SO good. Compelling storyline about a small sweltering town in Florida and the characters that live (and die) there. She's a beautiful writer.

When we focus on doom and gloom, we forget about all of the beautiful things that we are seeking to protect. I’ve been actively curating my feed to include more visual artists, musicians, and other creators for this very reason.

I'm sitting in a burger joint right now and an older woman just walked in with a large white cockatoo on her arm. Not a tattoo, a bird. My first thought was 'this is like a Tom Cox novel.' You see what you've done to me @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social ?
