Struggling With Errors, DOGE Deletes Billions More From List of Savings For the second time in a week, Elon Musk’s government overhaul effort updated its β€œwall of receipts” to remove mistakes that inflated its success.

Let me say @fahrenthold.bsky.social is a national treasure. Also he can do math. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/03/u...

We're not done yet | 18F

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

Crockett: "It's just that they're idiots. These are the same guys as it relates to our nuclear stockpile, they're like, 'Oh, wait a minute, we needed those guys? Can we get them back? Oh, we don't know how to.' I don't know how anyone can look at this administration & feel a semblance of confidence"

Why aren’t they taking the fired federal workers who are sharing their heartbreaking storiesβ€”the ones that Musk says were being paid to do nothingβ€”and making them famous? The cancer researcher on the verge of a breakthrough? The park ranger in Yosemite who won’t be there to conduct rescues and save lives? The air traffic controller who can speak to the connection between understaffing and recent plane crashes? Is it even safe to fly in Trump’s America?

The Democrats should be amplifying these folksβ€”writing op-eds about them, refusing to go on camera without sharing their spotlight, pressuring their IG influencers to raise them upβ€”but instead, we learn their stories from Reddit. As Moira Donegan wrote in The Guardian, β€œWhy are the Democrats so spineless?”

I've noted some of the procedural things Democrats could be doing in Congress, but this point from @edgeofsports.bsky.social's great piece in the Nation deserves emphasis.

This is basic politics, and it's baffling that every Democrat isn't doing it every day.

Elon Musk’s β€œDepartment of Government Efficiency” and Congress: Hypocrites Cutting Others But Not Themselves In 2011, when I was a freshman in Congress, we did something that should have become a habitβ€”we cut our own budgets by 5%.

β€œCongress wants to cut government but not their own budgets. Elon Musk's 'Dept. of Government Efficiency' wants to slash spendingβ€”except on his own gov-funded ventures. If they’re serious about cuts, they should start with their own staff and perks.

On 9/11, Trump called into Fox News -- to brag about how one of his buildings was now the tallest in lower Manhattan

Now, Trump is slashing healthcare for 9/11 victims and first responders

He doesn't care about America -- he only cares about HIMSELF

THE WHOLE THING IS A CON

The average person with the flu gives it to around 1.4 people. The average person with measles gives it to between 12 and 18 people.

Measles high infection rate is the reason we have not yet been able to eradicate it. That rate means you need a very high vaccination rate to prevent outbreaks. It is possible, but not with current levels of institutional distrust.

How a Canadian scientist and a venomous lizard helped pave the way for Ozempic - National | Globalnews.ca In 1984, Dr. Daniel Drucker, an endocrinologist from the University of Toronto, discovered a hormone that helped pave the way for popular diabetes drugs such as Ozempic.

Whenever you hear someone sneer about scientific research that seems useless to them β€” β€œthey’re studying the spit of lizards?!” β€” remind them that’s exactly how we got Ozempic.

The Framers foresaw this problem and figured legislators' ambition, self-preservation, and self-respect would drive them to act against a tyrant.

The Framers didn't expect a majority of Congress would be cowards and fools who cheered it like pigs celebrating the arrival of the butcher.

For those not in our coalition, here is a public message: hide any online content that is public, document everything you witness or experience, and keep daily notes at home with dates and times.
