By my count, this marks the 500th unique game I've speedrun. That is quite a few games. At this point half? were routed from scratch, which is my favorite part. It continues to be fun to give attention to games no one else will. It's fun to leave your mark on a game.

I built a procedural medieval island map generator using Wave Function Collapse on hex grids. 4,100 cells, 900 possible states per cell, 60fps on mobile. Wrote up the whole process with lessons learned. Links below 👇 #threejs #webgpu

Second weekend at the new place and its calming down a little. Still doing lots of unpacking and setup. Just started setting up my synth stuff today. Have not gotten to the retro consoles and CRT setups yet.

Tiny thing that ruffles me from interactions with peeps, usually in streams, is when someone asks "Have you ever played / watched X?" and you say "no", then they start explaining what it is. I did not say I have never heard of it; you asked if I had engaged with it. Those are DIFFERENT questions.
That makes perfect sense. There has been so much made and so much to explore in genres and decades past.
I feel I am almost in the exact opposite grove. There is so much new music that I am always being drawn to things I have never heard and am more and more rarely going back to things I have.

Nope, sounds interesting though. For me it's just mostly black. I also do not have any internal visualization in my brain, so it's basically always void nothingness.
And yes, I know a the modern game approach to this is the screen that has a list of all things you can scroll through to read about lore and tutorials, but it reads like a dull dictionary and not at all like reading an old school manual. It is not even close to the same feel.
While I am not a fan of owning physical stuff, I really did enjoy old video game manuals. The art, the lore, all the little notes and hints. I loved reading them.
I think it is something I really appreciated about Tunic, and would love to see more games incorporate in game digital manuals.

They forced us back into the office and there were quite a few coughs happening. I am not certain, but I would guess that it is likely I got something from there, especially as I am not one to go to places with lots of others very often.
Between moving (same city new place), work stress, and now being physically sick, T_T, I sadly doubt we do any streams this week.
We got the Ultima 7 (DOS) Any% No Debug Good Ending speedrun world record again. We got a fairly decent run overall. It can absolutely be improved, and I think this route has the potential to get sub 18, but this is a good start. ^^
