Had to talk about how, where I grew up, it wasn't that there weren't trans people, it's that violence was threatened for anything queer, trans, gay.
Because the protest "We Won't Go Back" means we don't want to return to the values that said it was okay to demonize and harm queer folks.
Sigh.
Less than one hour after the president was sworn in, I'm having conversations about how valid trans people/teens and their needs are.
Immediately after saying I didn't wanna talk politics at work, but something was said in followup.
It's coming up on a year since Grandma's passing. I clicked off the "favorite" next to her phone number. It was sad to see it every day, but now I am sad to let it go.
It's a real weird, heart wrenching feeling to digitally step away from the connections severed by death.

Today I went to the dentist for an infected abscess from a root canal. High pain. The doctor, having recently moved from Texas, hasn't gotten his licensure for prescribing pain meds yet. So I guess I'll just max dose OTC and suffer.
