This lumber came from someone's old deck. I thought it was cedar. But I'm not getting that cedar smell. I also had to sharpen and replace my planer blades mid way through.

Guess it's tool maintenance week. New saw blades and cleaning of the table saw blade riser guides. A little break parts cleaner and everything is moving smoothly again. my old table saw blade might not dull. Just caked with sap. 🤞 This saves someone a $ or two

Lesson learned. Wandering bandsaw blade = dull blade. Check that before anything else. I thought my FB marketplace purchase was done for. 56 7/8 inch is getting harder to find. 56 1/8 inch seems to work fine.

Agreed. Birch just smells odd, I can't put my finger on it. But it's very unique. Every once in a while I come across some pine that just smells, sick? I don't know. But it doesn't smell like pine needles, which is my favorite, and it's not okay..
Oh man. I bet that smelled glorious! I work with pallets so when I find a piece of maple the garage smells delightfully of syrup.
All that's left is some shellac touchups and its off to the client!
