A 2x2 matrix chart that categorizes individuals based on their use of AI and the quality of their judgment.
The vertical axis is labeled "Uses AI" at the top and "Does not use AI" at the bottom. The horizontal axis is labeled "Does not have good judgment" on the left and "Has good judgment" on the right.
The four quadrants are:
* **Top-Left (Uses AI + Poor Judgment):** "Slop Cannons" (in red text with an upward arrow from the quadrant below).
* **Bottom-Left (No AI + Poor Judgment):** "Dead Weight" (in red text).
* **Top-Right (Uses AI + Good Judgment):** "Turbo Brains" (in green text with an upward arrow from the quadrant below).
* **Bottom-Right (No AI + Good Judgment):** "Steady Hands" (in green text).
A watermark at the bottom left reads "www.danhock.com".

PSA if you have a public Amazon wishlist:
A stalker who wants your address can open an Amazon seller account & list themselves as a third party seller for an item on your wishlist. Then they order the item from themselves as a gift for you. Bam, they now know your address.

I wonder what's stopping the plugins from rendering on the GPU instead of CPU. Seems like it would be way faster, so you could do full renders/previews instantly. Or at least lower the sampling rate for the preview... You don't need super high resolution for a visual preview anyway

Sound engineer nerds: why do I have to listen to the whole track to see where it's clipping? Why is there no visualization so when I make an adjustment to the compressor or whatever I can instantly see how it changes the whole song, where it's clipping, where my overall volume is?

"AI models built to predict liver disease from blood tests were twice as likely to miss the disease in women as in men." Yeah but doctors do that too. It's because medical research data only studies men. Some of these biases are systemic; AI just highlights and scales up the bias

Across the US, people are dismantling and destroying Flock surveillance cameras
Anger over ICE connections and privacy violations is fueling the sabotage. PLUS: 10,000 drivers call on Uber to repay stolen wages, a man is arrested at a public hearing about a data center and more.
Across the US, people fed up with Flock cameras surveilling their communities, and with local governments that are often unwilling to listen to concerns over privacy violations and ICE data sharing practices, are taking matters into their own handsβand tearing them down.

Except of course that it's coming from the US government, who are the ones committing the genocide.
