LA's Metro is extending their D line to new stations in May, and through their merch site, recently offering tees saying "Ride the D!". Which sold out almost at once, for... reasons... if you think twice.

I'm going to GDC (wanna meet up? let me know)
Today, I went through the agenda
In the last 2 years, 25% of game devs have lost their jobs. The
GDC schedule is all about happy fun times. Tech things and how to. The industry has never faced a contraction this dire since the Atari crash. Maybe say so?
If Engineering complains about something I've designed, they're not necessarily wrong, and not necessarily right. The correct conversation to have is "here's WHY I think we need something like this; if you have ideas for how to get to that goal that are quicker/simply to implement, let's talk."

My review of Perfect Tides: Station to Station, solo developer Meredith Gran's sequel to her earlier Perfect Tides. It's a point-and-click adventure game. It's very angsty In the firstgame, the angst was about "high school sucks;" here it's about "love sucks."

Me: Atlantic Avenue subway station, pulling a heavy cart of groceries up the stairs, trying to get to the N-R. A women in a full chador grabbed the back of the cart and helped me pull it up the last few steps. I thanked her, of course. But anti-Islamacists can go... do creative things to themselves.
So the Grucci family, who supply fireworks for Macy's on the 4th of July, often do practice sessions from the Jersey City waterfront, across the Hudson from my apartment. They did so today (I could hear the explosions); I didn't go about, but my daughter did, and caught a little of the fireworks.
Auks. Auks are native to Greenland. But I doubt the waddle across the terrain much.
4. The claim that this is some kind of Trumpist triumph is obviously bogus.
5. This was available FROM THE START.
6. Denmark has ALWAYS been willing to share the defense of Greenland with the United States.
7. Trump is a liar, and a bully.
1. At the end of WWII, the US had -50- military installations across Greenland.
2. Denmark has been our ally since WWII.
3. Denmark has NEVER revisited the establishment of US bases in Greenland, and has welcomed them to bolster its defense.
parked by it, and I climbed up, lying on the RR tracks while my kids looked for trains, and upside down, repainted it. Maybe it's art, and maybe it's vandalism as a family bonding experience.
and sold the house. So we, and my then g/f, Ellie Lang, went out for a last visit. And we drove to see spaghetti man for the last time. The graffito had faded, and was barely visible. So I went to Thayer (a local h/w store) and bought a can of red enamel paint. One night, we drove to the trestle...
was horrible. En route, we would pass under an LIRR railroad trestle, which had a graffito that said "SPAGHETTI MAN AT MY DREAMS." Surreal, but interesting, but we would all should it. "Spaghetti Man Ate My Dreams!" My Dad got older, and decided he couldn't drive out to the Hamptons regularly...
SPAGHETTI MAN ATE MY DREAMS
In the oughts, I used to take my kids to my Dad's house in the Hamptons. I sent them to camp there, and would send the day working on a novel (or slacking and playing Heroes of Might & Magic 3). We took back roads to get to camp, because traffic on the Sunrise Highway..
Well, no. Without Russia, which suffered the greatest casualties at the greatest cost in WWII, they might be speaking German. The American contribution was comparatively minor.
Except in Switzerland, a neutral of course; my grandmere was Swiss French, and Switzerland has four official languages.
I'm surprised to see this, but maybe they had already started development on the next game, and figure it's worth taking it to release. Since it takes place at Caledon University, they can probably save money by reusing environments they already built for Double Exposure.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure was a flop (failing to recoup its $300m+ dev costs -- not that Square Enix should ever have spent that much on what started as an indie game originally).
The British Museum?
Words to remember: "If you have a warrant, shove it under the door."
"The police are the public and the public are the police." -- Robert Peel, founder of the Metropolitan Police (London), the first professional police in the world. On the need for the police to retain the trust of the people they serve, and rely on them to help control crime.

I get that. I don't think frustration with the status quo is limited to Puerto Rico. There's a reason my city (NY) elected a self-described social democrat.
This is the flag of GREENLAND overlaid on Greenland. Greenland is a self-governing nation, under the auspices of the Kingdom of Denmark. Any attempt to seize it would be an act of war, both against Greenland and Denmark, our NATO ally and a member of the UN since the Treaty of San Francisco.
Well yes, we fought a civil war on that issue. But I can imagine plebiscites on independence, with everyone agreeing to accept the outcome.
I'm not opposed to independence for any of these territories, should they want it. But I am opposed to the notion that inhabitants of these territories have no representation. The French overseas territories are the Departement d'Outre Mer, and at least have representation in the National Assembly.
That leaves Guam, American Samoa, and the Mariana Islands; if a state it would have the smallest population of any in the US. So as an alternative: They become part of Hawaii, which would likely gain 1 congressional seat, but would also have a vote. Decolonize now!
DC should become a state, but Reps will oppose because 2 likely Dem senate pickups. So plan B: DC gets reabsorbed into Virgina, not changing the Senate composition (but Virginia likely gets two congressional seats.
Every American citizen deserves Congressional and Senatorial representation, and none should be treated as a second-class citizen without such.
Puerto Rico should become a state, and include the American Virgin Islands. VI is too small to be their own state, but this gives them representation.
