Agreed. Davis is a much better midfielder and every minute he spends at fullback is pausing his development at his best position. With Vermes gone the club needs to start thinking in the medium to long term, and developing Jake Davis is a part of that.

Why is it expected that fans want a league to grow? It’s not my bottom line. My experience has gotten worse while the expense has gone up. MLS needs to grow to justify their expansion fees but I support a team, not a league.
I love The Athletic but this line in their annual MLS GM survey is one of the dumber things they’ve ever printed. “Longtime customers are upset at higher prices for a product no longer tailored to them. It’s an odd gripe for consumers of a company that needs to make as much money as possible.”

It seems like the league has gone all in on bringing in new fans but it has mostly come at the expense of the existing ones. I don’t really feel attached to my local club anymore and I watched less of the rest of the league than I have in years. Enjoy the Messi fanboys though.
