Artemis
by Andy Weir
Life on the moon is luxurious if you’re rich, and tough if you’re not.
The attention to detail and accuracy in a sci-fi environment is a huge draw to these stories. I can see why they’re critically acclaimed.

More Z-A first partners, and hands.
Stay Awake
by Megan Goldin
A fresh murder connected to a cold case, a couple of well-rounded detectives, and the prime suspect on the run has no memory of the past two years.
As wild and twisty as these mysteries can go, this one keeps up the suspense while also staying grounded.
Yeah, he’s an artist.
A con-artist.
The Midnight Library
by Matt Haig
A glimpse at infinite lives, and who you could become. Is it really the same you if you made different choices?
All you need is a change in perspective, though a little help would be nice. It’s hard to imagine the possibilities if you’re stuck in your despair.
The Last Commandment
by Scott Shepherd
A serial killer on a mission to rectify those who’ve sinned. An insane final case for Commander Grant to solve, hitting closer to home than he might realize.
Reading this after the following installment was actually pretty fun.
I’m pretty sure this was the first time I’d ever seen the Naruto run.
It’s complicated. The current alt-universe/spinoff is ending, but there are still one-shots and miniseries in the works. There is potentially a new main series coming, but the details are vague. And comics canon was always separate from show canon anyways, so…fwiw it’s still circling the drain.
It’s such a euphoric feeling when your script finally works, but everything until then is pain. No in-between.
Hidden in Smoke
by Lee Goldberg
LA is a high risk city for fires, so arson is not to be taken lightly. It takes a special kind of investigator to solve the case and ensure it won’t happen again.

Z-A starters and the OG mega evolutions.
Bottom line, if you keep an open mind, you’ll have a good time. A bloody good time.
On the other hand, Iron Lung deserves all the accolades and success it can get as a wide release, regardless of how it performs and rates. You can’t deny that this movie means something in this current industry.
Obviously I can’t be 100% unbiased, critiquing as a fan, but I do believe Mark’s acting has continued to improve from his previous projects. If anything felt out of sorts, I’d say it’s more an issue of the writing or pacing rather than the performance.
The visuals and effects, original score, sound design, and acting were great. There wasn’t any point where I felt this wasn’t a professional, quality movie.
The movie does a fine job of immersing you in the world, albeit through the confines of its main setting. It takes itself seriously through and through, and I felt the tension and weight of the situation.
It’s also a bit of a slow burn. So, like I said, lock in.
It is a video game adaptation, after all, which means it leaves a lot up to interpretation, and for you to piece together on your own. It may leave you with more questions than answers.
It even feels like you’re watching a game play out, which I guess could be a + or - depending on what you like.
For those unfamiliar with the game, you’ll definitely want to stay tuned in to get a good understanding of what’s going on. There is fair amount of lore built up, even beyond the game. I did get the sense that for some moviegoers, this might not resonate so well.
I watched Iron Lung tonight!
I’ll admit, being a big Markiplier fan is what mainly drove me to see this, but that doesn’t discount the fact that I find the original game’s concept adapted for film very intriguing.
An incredible feat behind the scenes, but also a solid watch in its own right!
The Dinner List
by Rebecca Serle
Your dream dinner with five people of your choosing; dead or living. It’s more thought-provoking than you’d expect.
Love is complicated, maybe fleeting. No matter how hard you try to make it work, maybe the best we can do is live in the moment.
Drawing Progress Week 29:
Gonna count this thread as one week of progress. Did this little sketch today. I have an idea for a Jungle Slizer animation, so maybe I'll make an animatic some time...
Need to learn how to animate and use Blender tho...
The Case of the Missing Maid
by Rob Osler
Harriet starts on her journey to become a great detective in an age of challenge to break out of societal norms.
I think we can all stand to learn that to be a better version of ourselves means to first embrace who we are now.
Starting up a new thread for 2026! Here’s to another round of good reads.

After playing a bunch of Legends: Z-A last month, I had an urge to draw a bunch of mega-evolved Pokemon. Very happy with how these turned out.
The Good Sister
by Sally Hepworth
Crazy how some people can perpetuate delusions and false memories, and do it so well that the pure truth will never be known for sure.
We’ve been good friends (at least, I think so) for a while now. Your interests far outnumber mine, but for the ones we share, I enjoy us being on the same wavelength or pretty darn close.
The Paris Apartment

Family can be complicated.
Didn’t quite go the direction I expected, but I appreciate the contrast to other stories of the type in mixing flashbacks and present events.
The Chronicle of Telum: From Mountains Cold

What lies beyond, and why do you seek it so?
Beware, for the answers you find might just bring more questions, and harsh consequences.
The next leg of Telum’s journey begins, with faces new and old, familiar and unfamiliar.

The Paris Agent
by Kelly Rimmer
It’s a miracle historians are able to piece together so many perspectives of war, given how chaotic times were and how much secrecy surrounded it. So much is buried or lost to time.
