If Chase DeLauter, George Valera and Daniel Espino can just stay healthy this year for the #Guardians, it could be a great season.

If you ever get the chance to visit Paisley Park in Minneapolis, DO IT! Not a lot of photo opps (they make you turn your phone off), but well worth it!
Fun fact: The guitar used in the iconic Rock Hall solo was originally purchased at a Minneapolis gas station for $30. Also used in Purple Rain.
Just watched "Blue Moon", by far the best thing Ethan Hawke has ever done. This Best Actor race is a doozy. I'd be happy with any of the winners.
(Looks up Guardians spring training schedule)
Cavs.
"Tender Mercies" has always been one of those movies I had meant to see but never got around to it. It's going away on Netflix in a few days, and I'm very glad I took the time to watch it. The Oscar was more than deserved. RIP Mr. Duvall.
Trying to keep proper perspective -- but James Harden and Donovan Mitchell could be a dyamite backcourt.
Late to the "Pluribus" party, but what an incredible first episode! Why do I doubt Vince Gilligan in the slightest?
Let's not pretend "Pistol" is one of the most important works to examine the punk rock movement. The acting (except Sydney Chandler) and writing are decidedly mediocre. That said, it's an exuberant, youthful and musically literate look at a band just trying to make it in working-class UK. On Amazon.
The best chronicle of the ABA remains Terry Pluto's "Loose Balls", but Dr. J's and Common's effort is also super entertaining -- and they (sort of) unleash Rick Barry! On Amazon Prime.
RIP Robert Duvall. (And see "The Great Santini")
"The Secret Agent" could have been an incredible movie, but seemed to just meander and ponder in too many places. The ending of the movie was quite good, though, and the performances (led by Wagner Moura and a stellar supporting cast) were the best part. AND THAT CAT -- HOLY SH*T!!!!
Is it wrong that I don't care about the Olympics?
I don't care how corny "All Creatures Great And Small" can get, it's what I personally need right now. In 2026, when it comes to entertainment I don't need edgy and I don't need shocking. Cute animals and good people are just the thing these days.
It's worth repeating: Two of the most dominant defensive performances in Super Bowl history came at the Patriots' expense.
Those things are a menace to pedestrians and real cyclists
I liked "The Irishman" much better upon a second viewing. It reminded me of our old podcast on DeNiro movies. Check it out here!

Feb. 10 -- Song from an artist born in the 1940s
Secretly one of his very best
Seahawks defense put on one of the most dominant displays in Super Bowl history. True football fans appreciated it!
I'm satisfied with watching the Patriots go down to an ignominious Super Bowl defeat. May they never win another Super Bowl.
This book is super interesting, and full of sharp social commentary as well as hilarious parts.
His first arrest, in Miami, came after he was reported for going door to door impersonating a priest and collecting money to benefit a leper colony. He collected $8,000 before he was apprehended.
LOL
We talked Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, Eugene Levy, and John Candy on our SCTV podcast last year -- give it a listen!
There used to be a day when players would actively veto any proposed trade to Cleveland.
I only like this deal if the Cavs have something bigger planned. And now they have the flexibility to do just that.
Just DON"T TOUCH EVAN MOBLEY!
Swing and a miss

Song outside my usual taste:
Fela Kuti: "Water Get No Enemy"
A good friend described Fela Kuti's music as "the slow burn". He was nominated for (and belongs in) the Rock Hall.
If the Cavs actually trade Mobley AND Tyson AND Dean Wade AND a first round pick for Giannis, we riot
THANK YOU Cavs for remembering that Jarrett Allen exists!! #LetEmKnow
