I still love going back to play the Sonic and Shadow levels from the Adventure games every now and then, but a lot of the other character campaigns can be pretty rough. Never been a fan of the emerald hunt levels π

I really enjoyed Lorelei but it can be incredibly obtuse even if you're making notes as you go. It did click for me after making a bit of headway and it does open up once you get into the swing of it, but definitely a game you've gotta be in the right headspace for
I spent most of the Xmas break replaying Cyberpunk 2077 and came away with an urge to dive deep into its themes with a new piece. www.si.com/videogames/f...
Like Dawntrail or not I think it's pretty hard to deny that 7.1 MSQ cliffhanger was one of the most chilling they've ever done. Always so impressive/terrifying FF14's writers are at instilling an unbelieveable sense of dread π
wrote a few words about the amazing voidwrought soundtrack for @videogameschronicle.com, along with amazing other composers! www.videogameschronicle.com/features/bes...
This is sad news. This man is a legend and the more you learn about Falcom during its early years, the more you see just how influential and important it was to gaming as a medium. Thank you Kato san for everything!
That a dude with a couple cameras and a plate of appetizers can make something worth $82.5 million and a media company looks at that and goes "couldn't we make even more money if we had AI do it?" tells you exactly how stupid these people are
Give me a single screenshot from a video game that immediately makes you hear the soundtrack in your head.
Not me buying Path of Exile 2 not realising I need an account, then the website also being down for maintenance πππ
Today was a good day π«
Shoutout to the Wipeout series for PlayStation's 30th anniversary! Hard to overstate just how revolutionary this series was in making a name for the PlayStation brand as a whole. It absolutely would not be where it is today without Wipeout. Big ups to Psygnosis for making it happen π

when you're mean to me this is who you're being mean to
Dynasty Warriors Origins demo was ridiculously fun. It's unapologetically DW with probably the best feeling combat in the series yet. Not a fan of other officers only being temporarily playable in the campaign though, tied to a meter. Hopefully the full game has a free mode like classic Musou games
Remember to go to Moderation > Advanced and make sure this is set to hide if you donβt wanna see mfers fishing for engagement
Been thinking about Travis Strikes Again recently and how it's easily one of the best examples of a game constantly, genuinely subverting your expectations. I adore the dialogue in this game, and the constant switches in genre and art direction are such a treat. Super underrated game imo
I recently reviewed the Evercade Alpha countertop arcade machine and found a lot to love about it. If you fancy building a physical media collection of arcade (and some indie!) games then this is a superb way to do just that www.techradar.com/gaming/everc...
Genuinely all for them taking another crack at Sonic '06. The fundamentals of a good game are already there: good level design, good story and of course one of the best soundtracks in the series. If any Sonic game needs a remake/remaster it's this one
Just fully Ys-pilled at this point. Oath in Felghana is also like 3 quid but I think I'll wait on the remaster for that π§ββοΈ
Yep! There are two USB ports at the front for wired controllers π
Ys 10: Nordics
Slitterhead
Not sure what it says about me that in a year of *incredible* games these two are my current frontrunners for GOTY (also big shoutouts to Silent Hill 2 and Shadow Gens)
Rolled credits on Ys 10: Nordics. Another incredible entry in this series that recaptures that massive adventure feeling that Ys 8 had. An easy 10/10 and a personal GOTY contender, can't recommend it enough π₯
Bluesky feed's really starting to come together now. It's been said a million times but this really is just such a nicer place lol

Oh 1000xRESIST is excellent! One of the most uniquely told stories in all of games imo, really hope you vibe with it
First hour of #Slitterhead thoughts: possession mechanic is genuinely super cool and really cleverly implemented in exploration and combat. Combat itself is a touch jank but by no means horrible. Story setup so far is really intriguing too, I'm definitely hooked
