issues are 1) its not a total order (although it should be fine for anything reasonable) and 2) it's annoyingly hard to explain and i want to simplify it
but it should correspond to peoples informal sense reasonably well

I feel like there's a good "throughput" metric wanted here.
I'd propose something like
associate to a machine A its generating function
f_A(x) = sum_i x^(a_i) where it generates a product on ticks a_1, ...
then we say A is better than B if like f_A(x)>f_B(x) for x in some interval (1-epsilon,1)
like
why do we need an RCT to give a kid a pair of earmuffs? its just silly
I think this is the view here I feel most uncomfortable with -- when an accomodation isn't disruptive and there isn't a worry about fairness I think there should be a strong presumption towards autonomy.
that sounds like making the middle east a pvp zone for people who want to wage holy wars and fulfil apocalypic prophecies with extra steps.
its a shame theres people living there who just want to mind their own business.
tbh I always found the system kind of odd, I think acquiring a British citizenship (in addition to my Australian one) decreases the number of parliaments I may run for?
americans why do you have thousands of police departments and elected school boards
australia is like 15:77:9 ish looks like?
i think it shouldn't be the case that the US public sector is 60% local employees
i hadn't even read this it was just utterly predictable

i feel like we are getting real people's front of judea/ judean people's front when it comes to tech liberaltarians on the question of "when did the conservative side of politics lose its head".
this seems pretty clearly unconstitutional?
like you can't do the "with the tacit approval of congress" if congress was not consulted and like, he may not be missed but kidnapping another countries head of state is usually considered an act of war.
CAN AMERICA WIN THIS WAR a flowchart for dummies:
do they have nukes?
|-yes--> I'd rather not

no

v
do you care about the country being functional after?
|-yes-->maybe, seems like a slog

no, i just hate *that guy* in particular

v
go nuts!
I am bemused this is not normal in the states? I suppose in Aus the parties do recieve funding π
definitely squicked enough out by grok nonsense i feel like i ought to boycott
Say you're a swing voter who doesn't trust the mainstream media that much -- well you can look at this account and yep it seems possible the whole thing has been taken over by groypers
I wonder what percentage of the drop in trust in ICE this account is singlehandedly responsible for?
could make a colorable case either way and i guess it depends how much of an ass a hypothetical student is being
seems a reasonable judgement but I think itd make sense for the standard to be different for eg? a teacher?
like i feel like lithiums going to be tricky to beat for joules per gram but you are not optimising for joules per gram here
tbh something other than lithium makes the most sense when we are talking grid storage?
(unendorsed in retrospect)
is like individualised LLM-assisted bsky content moderation a thing because it seems like a good idea?
like, there is probably a reasonably large set of people who are like "I would like some curation and trust Claude or Chatgpt with custom instructions more than typical bsky blocklist maintainer"
How do a majority of people get Q3 wrong?
and I feel like the current political moment has broken down those barriers a fair bit.
There's an odd thing of, I suspect traditionally for a public broadcaster there's be a difference in how you'd cover an election in the developing world vs how much you'd cover an election in the developed world vs your own country in terms of how much you can get away with implicitly taking sides
