Lord Nelson was 5ft 6in. His statue is 17ft 4in.
That’s Horatio of 3:1.
Can't see that being offered unless we do an Istanbul. Current one expires summer 2027 - they'll likely pay him his final year come May
I agree. FSG have taken a big risk in retaining him
Slot has been sold short by Edwards & Hughes' failure to reinforce at CB & CM. Also, selling off squad depth. But blame for almost the whole first XI to decline this season is mostly at Slot's door. For me, the defining performance was City away - defeatist, passive. It's been a hallmark this season
This IPSO adjudication against the Telegraph is quite something
Confirms their story titled: ‘We earn £345k, but soaring private school fees mean we can’t go on five holidays’ was completely fabricated, with the family involved non-existent and stock pictures used

Six years ago, his principles were entirely different.
Agreed; but it will be even harder for Starmer to even try to do so. Besides, Blair obtaining parliament's authorisation will inevitably have strengthened his position, despite the anger that came next - which came largely from the public, not parliament
The minimum Starmer can and should do is get parliamentary authorisation for any action, if for no other reason than to protect his own position. Without that, he can't wash his hands of whatever consequences follow from here on for the UK
Can't these 'partner countries' defend themselves? As for the UK supporting peaceful negotiations, those were ongoing until Friday night, until they were unilaterally ended by the US and Israel bombing Iran. And Yvette's best bedside manner isn't gonna change the truth of that
Really enjoying the Winter Olympics. Beautiful, uplifting scenery, excellent BBC commentators, and sports not ruined by money or over-exposure
Nice of that bloke in the audience to say the royal family will survive and we'll all grow to love them again. Love these people who speak on behalf of the nation on matters like this
This must be one of the most nauseating episodes in #bbcqt history - a frenzy of royal whitewashing. Fiona Bruce either so dim or so disingenuous she's even denying that the royal family paid off Virginia Giuffre - 'we don't know the Queen paid for her silence'. Fuck off
Not a single police officer convicted for the unlawful killing of 97 men, women and children at Hillsborough, or the cover-up that followed for 23 years
There's a cracking bookshop in Alnwick, built in an old railway station - Barter Books. Never seen a bookshop like it

It's beautiful Gary. That coastline from Alnmouth up to Seahouses is a great walk - wild, unspoilt beaches, ruined castles, good pubs
Interesting to read this, as a Liverpool fan. FWIW he looked a decent appointment to me, at the time. But I was disappointed to see his style of play at Spurs - wasn't a fit with the club's identity and history. Who would have been a better appointment at the time - was there a clear alternative?
hi Rob. I visited Hobart in the late 90s, but didn't get to see the gardens. Interesting info though - thank you. I suspect the darker bricks here are dark cos they're damp-affected, being nearer to the ground level
Ah, thanks very much lads
Anyone know what this is? Saw a few of these in the remains of 19th-century walls in Wapping recently
Fair point. But we need to address children's welfare ahead of subsidising both parents to work FT just to keep the housing market buoyant
Free breakfast clubs - ie, put young kids into a school day almost as long as an adult's working day, cos both parents have to work, cos their mortgages are so high. This "progressive measure" is one reason we have the unhappiest children in Europe. Bring the cost of housing down
The Guardian is still parroting the line that McSweeney masterminded Labour's 2024 election victory. This deification of dubious political strategists did so much to sustain Mandelson's toxic career
Since #bbclaurak is trending, let’s remind ourselves that ONE MONTH ago, the BBC invited Mandelson on for a soft-ball interview on her show. While HIS CLIENT , Palantir’s Louis Moseley appeared as a pundit
Both, as I wrote at time, were ‘abject failures of journalism’

It's the Ronnie Pickering angle that'll do for Starmer. Surely he knows Ronnie Pickering
Happy heavenly birthday to Bob Marley. Bought this signed print of his original Legend album portrait by the photographer Adrian Boot at an auction to raise money for the Jamaica relief fund, after its worst hurricane ever. Donations can still be made here
