Abolish the legal gender marker entirely. No government can be trusted to have a database of which people have changed theirs, no government has any business tracking what your gender is "supposed" to be in the first place.

no more AI "art." i want art made by people because i want to know how people think, feel, live. how a day on this earth is for someone else. a night. and why the heart, though so heavy, still wants to dance. i want art that looks into this mystery. art that connects me to another person who wonders

Of course this is also a way to undermine libraries, which has been a part of the playbook from the start.

15.02.2026 15:25 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

2) ...allowed my library to go fine free for checkouts

3) libraries are public community spaces in the way post offices and town halls aren't, have more space & are more family friendly

4) libraries also often have evening hours, so folks don't have to take time off work or school for their appt

But if it's "less than 1%" of facilities affected, why does it matter?

1) more facilities benefits both the DoS (for whom we are providing a service) and patrons who have to travel less to get to a location

2) it's mutually beneficial! The application and photo fees (standard at all facilities)...

I know it's obvious, but the only conceivable reason for this is to make it harder to get a passport as federal ID requirements surge

The current book ban movement is, at its core, a movement to defund the public good.

The necessary bigotries were a feature of that, not a bug.

Gonna need people to support middle grade and YA titles bc where do we think adult readers come from!! If kids don’t have good books to read from like 8 - 12 they are going to stop reading 😭😭😭😭

Welcome to issue 11! It shaped up to be thick with liberatory gestures – on disability, fatness, Blackness, youth, and more.

Creatives across/against genre and medium tackle pressing issues of disposibility and resistance.

two locks latched means
everyone’s still tucked inside
buried deep, closed up,

except a crack in my upstairs window
balancing the dusty heat with outside air

where the first late snow drowns
the black twisted stalks of
peas, strawberries, tomatoes

strangled fruits clawing up from a pale grave
stewing in their dark plastic pots since June.

even once softly tended peppers
dangle rotting from their vine.

@kmbezner.bsky.social's "This Morning My Coffee Is Bitter" is evocative and claustrophobic, rich with color and imagery.

“There was a line of children waiting to get treated by medics.”

ICE did this.
Trump did this.
Republicans did this.
“Centrist” Democrats who have caved on anti-immigrant bullshit for years did this.

Abolish ICE. That’s the minimum.
