I still find it interesting how the tooling of that Thomas seems to be loosely based on the Lionel O gauge Thomas, you can especially tell from the whistle and overall proportions of the product.

I used to imagine Thomas at IRL train stations I went to as a kid and I am pleased to say that I still imagine it to this day

Also from what I can assume, the lamp irons weren't added because they can pose a threat to young children due to the risk of injury and being a choking hazard if they happen to be snapped off of the running board

I don't think a children's toy needs to be THAT detailed on the inside. Maybe if they made it a premium collector's item, then they would paint the cab details and add lamp irons.
