This investment will ensure that Sutton’s name is known globally for world leading cancer research.
I will continue to support the team at the Cancer Hub and local residents to ensure that the project can be delivered smoothly and will help to update local residents on progress as best as possible.
Above all I am really excited about the opportunities that the Cancer Hub project will bring to Sutton.
The project is expected to bring 3,000 direct new jobs, and support over 13,000 jobs for the broader Sutton area, and will contribute up to £1 billion to the local economy.
I was able to share with Socius concerns constituents raise about the project, particularly around the extra provisions that will be needed with highways and public transport.
We discussed how they can work together with TfL, and local elected representatives to make the case for improvements.
I was really pleased to be able to visit the site of the newly approved London Cancer Hub in Belmont today.
It was great to be able to chat to the team from Socius and Aviva and find out about local organisations that they are partnering up with to make it happen.
This is essentially the position that Kemi Badenock and Nigel Farage are pushing for, and would enable if every allowed near power.
