got the mf bread
hi everyone
dropping in to let yβall know that futurespore.com has been refreshed as a forum-based platform and solarpunk education site
launch is still fresh so pls, if you see any bugs, Iβve got my bug stomping shoes on just lemme know where you find them
also Iβm now offering digital ecosystems services if anyone is looking to upgrade the experience their brand or business offers
mycelia.agency
giving the website a whole Y2K art nouveau makeover complete with a social forum platform for solarpunks
Bluesky devs, if youβre reading this, please add custom profiles Γ la Tumblr and MySpace and you will win the social media throne
new powers unlocked: I know how to host a server on my phone now and distribute over meshtastic :3
damn dairy farmers are really big mad that a lot of people went dairy free huh
blabbled a midnight ramble on how we need to find and melt our gold to kintsugi the pieces of our broken world

Iβm at the D&D club, Iβm at the chess club, Iβm at the programming club, Iβm at the combination D&D chess programming club
I vote yes
as above so below
- also been working on a plant guidebook, but itβs mostly fallen on the back burner with how much Iβm balancing rn.
- Futurespore is a one woman bootstrapped and crowdfunded team atm. Iβm seeking grants, but rly picky as I care a LOT about sovereignty both in decision making and for users
- writing a sci fi/speculative fic novel to go along with the ecosystem. shaping lore/mythos with the release just seems like a really fun way to get people intrigued, especially as I donβt know of any stories that quite capture the essence of this specific type of technology.
So a little more about this project:
- there is a mobile app in the works that uses G.A.I.A., with broader functionality and features for plant work
- prototyping a phone for myself that uses G.A.I.A. as part of the OS β may release in the future, but for now itβs experimental
Iβm super grateful for your shoutout. Thank you!
Plus the team is quite accessible
Looked into it and it seems like itβll need some time before it avoids going off the rails. I like Hermes for the fact that Nous Research is doing some cool things with decentralized training that takes data centers out of the training and could outpace the larger companies wrt that strat

G.A.I.A. is designed to live on a 256GB SSD stick for off-grid-friendly distro, hardware compatibility still pending. Currently run on a MacBook Pro M1 Pro, the end goal is to have her serve as the base βbrainβ for a mobile app Iβve been developing for 3 years + exploring portable hardware options
Shocked at the warm response to G.A.I.A., so hereβs an update! Ignore side panel, sheβs running locally on Hermes3-8B. Made huge updates to her UI in the last month + currently in the process of uploading PDFs, so her responses arenβt 100% yet, but thatβs my current focus.
Logged off for a month and wasnβt expecting so much positive energy around her. TYSM bluesky!!! You can support the development of this project by donating or subscribing monthly to the Futurespore Ko-Fi

Ideally would like to not have them involved at all and am developing her with that as a main priority, can just see where there may be limitations for hardware in terms of accessibility and I want her to be accessible + 100% private
ty for sharing!!
with raspberry pi5 for mobile concepts β for that use case, exploring what data centers are out there that only use sustainable methods and options for self-hosting/DIY cloud. I want to keep the data centers out of the final product as much as possible *or* use ethical methods.
iβm running her on a MacBook Pro M1 Pro, sheβll live on a 256GB flash drive. Model is Hermes3 8B, so very tiny, using RAG and creating an explorable knowledge UI to refine her understanding without needing a bigger model. Ideally would like to see how low of a device she can run on + experimenting
Inside the brain of G.A.I.A., an off-grid-friendly local AI agent that Iβm developing to provide accurate information on horticulture, gardening/foodscaping, and ecology. Currently working on making her knowledge development of each plant and subject is accurate and navigable.
the other app is down, so hello.
here is a preview of G.A.I.A., a local AI agent for off-grid utility, in development to help improve plant literacy, safe foraging, herbalism, and gardening. G.A.I.A. lives on a 256GB SSD flash drive for portability, privacy, and sustainability.
