Oak galls, which look like fruit but contain the gall wasp babies, and now I will never go outside again.
This week I learned about the Gall Wasp which lays its eggs on an oak tree and then injects a hormone that tricks the tree into growing a protective shell around the developing larva, proving once again that Mother Nature is one crazy-ass witch whom one would do well to avoid.
it says a lot about us, none of it good, that we chose a leader with not a single redeeming quality: stupid? yup. corrupt? absolutely. dishonest? to his core. violent? maybe the most violent ever. any ability to empathize with people? none. baseline level of regard for human life? not even a skosh.

Went on a nature hike today and saw these two wild birds in the woods. I believe they are a rare breed more prevalent in the 1970s called the "jive turkey". (telling stupid jokes so I don't start sobbing).

BREAKING: We're suing Kansas for a law that invalidates transgender people's updated driver's licenses and authorizes anyone to sue anyone they suspect of being trans for using the "wrong" bathroom.
