Wood anemones are full of bees this afternoon.
Snowdrop season is just about over as wood anemone season begins. This is another woodland plant that I continually dig, divide & transplant to other areas of our woodlands. Itβs such a beauty
Thank you π
In celebration of world book day.
An old video of me reading from a book I ghost wrote with my wonderful cat Bodacious.
βBodacious the Shepherd Catβ
He was a most magnificent cat. He died in 2019, I miss him still.

I forgot to post this yesterday!!!
First of March, first day of spring
This morningβs dawn chorus sings in a calm gloaming after last nightβs stormy winds and lashing rain
Youβre most welcome. So glad that you enjoyed it.

Kettle boils, tea made and cats acknowledged
A Caterday morning
This morningβs dawn chorus with daffodils, dogs playing and river mists rising
Oh wonderful to hear. Thank you π
Donβt forget crocuses. All bees and hover flies absolutely love crocuses. Succession planting is an excellent way to feed pollinators. Snowdrops then crocuses then primula ππ
This is exactly why Iβve worked for years to plant winter&early spring flowering plants/trees. As climate shifts pollinators will have early seasonal food. If pollinators have food so do birds&small mammals.
To feed biodiversity one must feed what land life is based on,soil biome, plants&insect life
Thatβs exactly why I have worked for years planting winter and early spring flowering plants and trees as climate shifts so pollinators can have food.
If you're deep in snow, even if you're not: these small wonders from Suzanna accompanied by a full chorus of birds.
Yes I hear that you guys are getting a blizzard of deep snow proportions
A beautiful line of scarlet elf cup fungi in our woods.
Bird song all around us
I realize it's been years since our woods sounded as deeply rich. π³ And right now, with 14 inches of snow cover for all of 2026, more snow coming, much more, bird song feels very distant. Thank you, Suzanna.
This morningβs dawn chorus.
One of the best benefits of farming for nature and biodiversity
Potentially a Trojan horseβ¦β¦??
This is why every year I try to do my bit for early emerged pollinators.
To dig up,divide&transplant snowdrops&crocuses.
Essential food for insects like bees&hover flies which become healthy food for many birds.
Itβs all connected for essential environmental health&biodiversity
