They were never inaudible just so much clearer now, though my own voice is apparently deafening!!

Have to say, the volume emerging from our trebles at Evensong last night was Quite a Thing! No doubt I'll adjust in time...
Lol
I have just done my first fully audible Evening. It was rather lovely so on the whole I'd recommend them...and so far they've stayed in today too!
Y. I guess partly needing glasses can happen at any stage whereas the perception is the deafness is a problem of the elderly
Til one fell out not once,or twice but four times, at which point the only option was to come clean (clearly I need practice in settling them happily in)! I wonder why I saw them as a badge of old age? Why I want to pretend I'm "not there yet"? I'm lucky! I've already enjoyed more years than my mum
Had a good laugh at myself yesterday. Finally admitted I wasn't hearing everything last week, booked an appointment for Friday, emerged with 2 tiny tech miracles that make the world a much clearer place & was smugly realising they're so unobtrusive nobody need know...
He used his own son as the model for Christ. A father painting his son entombed! There's a shed-load of theology right there
Fascinating evening @southwarkcathedral.bsky.social with the film "Chris Gollon : a life in pictures"
I don't honestly understand much of his work but I really am drawn in by his Stations of the Cross from St Johns Bethnall Green as I am by the stunning Mary Magdalene at the Base of the Cross here
A line of coloured smoothies surrounded by greenery
A lovely rainbow by "Turnips" in @boroughmarket.bsky.social yeaterday
Suddenly. As in no bluebells on Saturday and blossom a recent development too
Early bluebells
Wood violets
White blossom against a blue sky
WFH with a big piece of paperwork to complete it probably surprises nobody that I was glad to be distracted by the need to take Willow out into the spring sunshine earlier. And look what we found;
A very troubling read. I'm so sorry this is another sad result of the current attitude to Humanities subjects as somehow no longer justifiable. Awful
Thank you. Signs of hope make such a difference in this dystopian world
Not the best weather this morning g, but oh, that tree!
Here's the missing S. It slithered away in serpentine fashion but I have caught it and restored it to it's proper place at MasS
Joys today: everyone giving their all in Cwm Rhonda at the end of Mas; fabulous & deeply engaged confirmation group reminding me how much I love exploring faith with others; Brahms Geistliches Lied at Evensong. Each a small candle, lit so we don't have to curse the darkness.
Dear God! I am so sorry. Feeling very helpless here in the UK but sending love and courage
Not much enjoying our MP journey through Galatians at the moment, til this jumped out
"The only thing that counts is faith working through love."
It may be a bit "chicken and egg". Is love a response to faith or vice versa? Either way, they are lights to walk by.
I am so sorry
Still a further 12 probationers in the wings before we go anywhere near this year's recruitment drive!
Lots of choir promotions, to full chorister and senior roles at Evensong.
Very proud of all our choristers and the beautiful music they make @southwarkcathedral.bsky.social
All fine except his owner spoke to me at the same moment,- but I had swept on my "help. I'll be late" way by the time this registered. Gentleman with dog: please forgive my discourtesy and I promise I WAS addressing your hound, not making improper overtures!
Long ago when twitter was a happy community a lady who was dealing with cancer, "Cherry Bakewell" always singed off reminding us "smile at a stranger & their dog". I've carried on but usually speak to the dog too. This just now I said "Morning beautiful" to a gorgeous cocker poo outside my cathedral
They're remarkable, still struggling at times, but still giving as much as they can to the world when they can
Joyful day included presiding, Shriving and welcoming this powerful piece as our Lent Art work. Thanks to Coventry cathedral I am much braver in responding to visual arts& enjoyed writing a reflection on this.

West Square not only provides a playground for the #WestSqureFoxes, it is also home to three very fine, if slightly recumbent, mulberry trees. I love the texture of their trunks, and all the layers of moss which wrap them round. Zoom in to get a feeling for their gnarled splendour.
The Shard showing off in #BroodingDrama mode and practising a bit of wuthering as I wombled in for Evensong @southwarkcathedral.bsky.social
Daffodils in flower
Bare trees against a bright blue sky
White hellebores clumped around a tree
Blue skies and spring flowers herald the feast of Cyril and Methodius. Have a happy day...and know you are loved, whatever is going on in your life.
#Caturday vibes from Sorrel, who is finally willing to accept that it is actually I who returned from foreign parts and not some evil imposter...
I've always thought "These trees, their branches apparently stuck in a lump of plasticine, look like my _idea_ of a baobab"but only discovered last night they're known as "Baobab planes"
Apparently it's a known condition that sometimes affects your basic London plane. Extraordinary shape. Love it!
