many, many places are real as well, like of course Odaiba but also Hikarigaoka where the children lived when they first saw Agumon/Greymon.
I don't know how Digimon Tamers is perceived in the West but it is rather realistically based in West Shinjuku - almost everything is real, especially the movie Runaway Locomon, the whole Yamanote Line is featured.
