@thecccuk.bsky.social have published a report on Scotland's climate progress.
It echoes our calls for stronger, faster action on home heating, greener transport & eco-friendly agriculture.
Without this the new Climate Change Plan will not be credible.

The Climate Change Committee's latest report shows Scotland is falling behind on cutting emissions from homes and land. ⚠️
Tackling the climate crisis isn't optional, it's essential. We need to act now. 🌍

Climate advisors warn the Scottish government lacks a credible plan to cut farming emissions. Agriculture is a major driver of climate change, and farmers and crofters need real support and funding to shift to sustainable practices.

What a win for nature!
Scotland is the first UK country to have Swift bricks in law – a lifeline for this threatened bird. And, for the first time ever, the Scottish Government must set legally binding nature recovery targets.
Thanks for helping make history with a strong Natural Environment Bill.

This is a real milestone moment for nature, as the Act will bring in high-level statutory targets for nature restoration, supporting the efforts of many people across Scotland who work incredibly hard to protect and restore our natural environment.

Scotland’s farmers are in a unique position to produce high-quality food for our tables, provide important rural jobs and tackle the climate and nature crises, but they need the right support to do it.

The Scottish Parliament, Holyrood, Edinburgh, at winter time. The low sun casts shadows of bare trees on the side of the building.
The Scottish Budget includes some welcome steps for climate & nature. 🌍
• Maintaining the Nature Restoration Fund
• Skills to nurture nature-friendly farming
• Continued support for renewables & clean heat
But Scotland needs a leap, not small steps. The next Parliament must deliver bold action. 🌱
Our first thoughts on today's #ScotBudget:
"We’re pleased to see the introduction of a private jet tax. We now need the government to build on this move towards fairer pricing for the most polluting mode of transport by tackling frequent flyers and reducing short haul domestic flights."
Welcome news from today's #ScotBudget that people travelling to Scotland on private jets will be taxed ✈️ 🥳
We look forward to sharing our views in the consultation and making sure polluters pay appropriately for the damage they cause 💰
Graphic with a bright green background showing a black‑and‑white image of the Earth on the right, covered in looping black flight paths, with a white private jet flying above it. On the left, a large black speech bubble with white quotation marks contains the text: “A commitment to a private jet tax sends a clear message: the super-rich will no longer get a free pass to pollute Scottish skies. Jamie Livingstone, Oxfam Scotland.”
🚨 BREAKING: at today’s #ScotBudget the Scottish Government announced a new tax on private jets, something we've been campaigning for.
The true test will be how tough the tax is: it must punitively punishes the pockets of private jet passengers raising millions for green projects.
