I don't think I've seen the Simpsons episode where Lisa got access to a time machine ;)

I've always loved this type of Bomberg's landscapes, much more so than work like The Mud Bath.

Fell asleep in a warm march sunbeam on the sofa at lunchtime, and I have to tell you now, it was *glorious*.

It was. I also had a dog walker come past VERY early next day as I emerged, starkers, from a morning dip in one of the lakes. We exchanged manly nods.

Takes me back to when I shot some pictures there a good few years ago. I kipped out on the gravel on the bird reserve, and was woken in the night by people with huge nets doing a bat survey right next to me.

I'd love to say "Yes, I agree based on all the stuff of his I've pored over" but the truth is I'm very poorly read - But hopefully I know good writing when I see it? I saw a truncated version of this quote and had to go and look up the rest because it felt so absolutely on the nose in 2026.

I've watched the process/sketches bit a couple of times now, and I still can't figure out what the thought processs might have been that ended up with the hand/butt situation. But yeah, clearly a ripoff.

Clipping : β€œAn era can be said to end when its basic illusions are exhausted… A retreat began from the old confidence in reason itself; nothing any longer could be what it seemed… A sort of political surrealism came dancing through the ruins of what had nearly been a beautifully moral and rational world… The whole place was becoming inhuman, not only because an unaccustomed fear was spreading so fast, but more because nobody would admit to being afraid.” (Miller 1974: 30, 32, 36)

I turned 40 this year, and perimenopause seems to have hit me like a freight train. I'd like to talk about it this #IWD.

What’s shocked me is how little I knew about it before. We’re not taught about it so we’re not prepared. SexEd teaches us about when we’re fertile and just leaves it there!

SO I've (I think) solved the issue. Occasionally The Internet still functions as it used to, & you find a real enthusiast who has solved your niche problem because they are Very Very Nerdy About Something in the best possible way.

My gratitude to Keith.

I've had two Epson Ecotank printers which were both brilliant until they just keeled over because they dried out from under-use(!) So I thought I'd try an alternative Canon tank printer and OH DEAR. It's never f*cking simple with printers, is it?
