Well, that's b/c there wasn't someone sitting next to you.
It doesn't matter if they are male or female - it just matters that they are there, and life is a little better...

I'm going to piggyback on this b/c 1) broader distribution w/multiple followers & 2) flora & fauna people care about flora & fauna people ๐
On March 21st, I will be volunteering all day at: Tilth Alliance Annual Edible Plants Fundraiser.
Please come by for your Spring plants!

I won't use other platforms b/c I don't want to give them my money.
But I really want to learn how to block this account (I don't want to give their name extra search-ability...
Bluesky...
Hey @amay206.bsky.social how do I block posts from "the needling?"
I'm asking b/c I find them to be so violent twd anyone (especially women!) who live in Seattle & don't look to them as 'the Oracle'
They're basically the "libs of tiktok" for insighting violence & don't want them in my feed. TY!
Over 6 years, while living in DC & Chicago - I dated a guy in The Netherlands.
We often stayed local when I'd see him, but about 40% of the time, we traveled.
On the road in Europe, he would watch Friends.
It drove me crazy! But apparently 20 yr old reruns of Friends is what made him happy ๐
But with no new data coming in - from real ppl in the field - all conclusions are "stale" immediately.
This sounds like a waste of time for no significant or 'real and applicable" results...
A sticker for the Real Cartagena FC is leaning against a wooden box on a bookshelf.
Love this! Cartagena was the first city outside the US I ever visited. I did a student exch there when I was 15 & fell in love w/ it. Though oddly, I've never been back...
I also (casually) follow their FC team, but it's more for fun than anything else. I hope you're having a great time there! ๐จ๐ด
Isfahan has a lot of students & in certain ways it reminded me of Boston... It's full of young, cosmopolitan, and highly educated ppl who want a better life.
Shiraz is very art & history focused, & kind of a 'melting pot' of Silk Road cultures. A beautiful city...
Such sadness ๐
I have been to Tehran, Kermanshah, Isfahan & Shiraz. All are major metropolitan cities w/ large populations & cultural significance.
Kermanshah probably has the most foreigners, as it's a 'petrol-town' & most ppl I saw there were German & Scandinavian (all men) who work in the oil industry.
To this day - still my favorite WSJ chart showing their belief on the composition of working people in the USA...
Where are we getting the 'slutty' from? I watched the 16 seconds, and it looked nieve and trusting to me. Kinda like season #1 Peggy Olsen!
(Said by someone who started MM from season 1 last week, and is seeing it as a more complicated and deep show than remembered...)
I don't know anything about this dude. Is this reflective of a pattern, or was it a 'one-off?'
Not that either answer gives a full picture - I'm just trying to find out more about him, and due to this event, this is what opened the door to my questions...
Love The Righteous Gemstones!
(Two years ago I rewatched season 1 and ONLY paid attention to Judy and her lines. OMG - she is the best written, and most deviant character - I loved it ๐)
Hi ~ I have a story I would like the Seattle Times staff to potentially investigate.
Anyone have a contact?
TY! I will pass this along, and hopefully it will help answer the question! ๐
@lindaholmes.bsky.social I know this isn't in your direct 'line-of-sight' purview at NPR, however, if I can ask - is there a good source, or tips/tricks for searching prior NPR shows that you can share?
As a longtime PCHH listener, I trust your advice ๐
When I read your comment, I actually 'heard it' in a Sarah Silverman voice ๐
Same for me with the SOTU, but also for the conventions.
I watched both every four years and it was important to me. And for the 10 years I lived in DC in my 20's - my friends and I would watch them at the bars b/c everyone of them showed it live...
Now I don't watch anymore & it makes me sad.
Is that Toonces?
West coast - please use My Shake for earthquake warnings myshake.berkeley.edu
And update your notifications to alert you when your phone is on DND.
I have my phone set to DND from 10pm to 7am, so I updated my notifications to still get contacted when there is a quake w/i 50 miles. Just FYI...
๐กHmmm - am I seeing a wall mounted bracket in some of these shots?
(SN: I'm impressed with how you've turned that room into a studio - nice work.)
The last two winters here in Seattle have been such a disappointment!
I love all four seasons and celebrate and worship them equally - but the lack of snow here (and the ridiculously warm weather) have made for the most depressing and boring winters recently. Bah humbug ๐
I try to go and find some at least once a winter.
Three years ago, I decided to go dog sledding on the Teton Range in Jackson, WY and had one of the best weekend ever!
It was so cool (and COLD!!), so much fun, and something I can't wait to do again. If given a chance - try this - it's awesome! ๐๐ท
With my pack on the trail during a quick pee break (mostly for the dogs...). There are 7 dogs, and myself standing on snow with the Teton Range in the background.
Giving a belly rub to one of the dogs in my pack with the mountains behind us.
I'm taking the picture from inside the sled and the dogs are pulling me and running in front.
I stopped for a mimosa at the top of the mountain and this picture was taken inside of an all glass yurt.
I grew up in Miami and believe that has a lot to do with why I LOVE the snow! ๐
I joke I'm like a six y.o. or a puppy whenever it snows, as I get over-the-moon excited, have to jump and play in it no matter what :)
And since we get so little snow in Seattle...
I sub the to newsletter (not paid at the moment b/c I'm job hunting...) & read it almost daily. And as much as I enjoy learning from that source, I want to share how much I'm enjoying the videos from yesterday & today.
They add additional value and clarity & I for one appreciate them. So thanks.
I really like the composition of that photograph overall. Nice job with the framing and beautiful flowers! ๐ท
I vacillate b/w:
* Escape (the pina colada song),
* The Lion Sleeps Tonight (if there is a hell, this is on a loop), &
* Into the Night ("she's just 16 years old..." or as I call this one - the date rape song)
Of course I'm also showing I listen to 'yacht rock' when I do yoga at home :)
Depending on what TLC your little cutie-pie needed, this might be an option for you. Especially if going out of your home is anxiety inducing for the little fur monster... FWIW
I'm not sure what 'kitty salon' means ๐ฑbut I have a vet tech who does grooming on the side & she comes to my apartment in Fremont.
One of my kitties needs to have a trim (they call it a 'pants trim' whereas I call it a Brazilian ๐) every 3 months otherwise he gets poop stuck to his tail.
