The next two weeks are going to be an intense time in my communities.
My hockey fam is going to be self-soothing the lack of PWHL games by waking up before 6am to watch unevenly matched national teams and repeatedly try to sort out why everyone has the wrong teammates. #MilanoCortina2026
More things I love about women's hockey: nothing says professional sports like 18,000 people singing along to a 90s power ballad about the struggle for Irish independence #pwhl
TIL there is a critical mass of tenth grade trombones in a high school band at which point you're contractually obligated to perform Sweet Caroline
Dear body,
The scapula is not a storage locker for muscle tension. Please attend to this overreach of the lease agreement.
Sincerely, the management
But am I crazy to think that in retrospect we were maybe using it to describe... autistic traits? Like, restricted food and clothing choices? Literal thinking? That stuff? I mean, if so, I think it's a good thing that we now have a different paradigm, but still... interesting.
Thinking a lot recently about how we don't really talk about people being neurotic anymore. Sure, in part it's a term that got a lot of stigma attached to it, and shedding it means we can't use it to just dismiss people anymore.
A salute to the end of "skeletons don't work that way" season. #Halloween
Thirty-five years ago, Phil Fontaine spoke publicly about the abuse he and others suffered in Residential school. Thank you for your courage sir. www.cbc.ca/player/play/...
Yeah, my child would also like to sign on to this class action
A photo of the characters Talia Winters and Susan Ivanova from Babylon 5. Text on top of the photo reads "she's gay, Marcus"
Today in *extremely* niche crossovers #pwhl #babylon5
Ok but guess what I'm watching
Today in masculinity:
My barber, who I haven't seen in 6 mos, who is also an amazing colourist, looking at my splotchy fading manic panic: so... you coloured your hair?
Me: yeah, I had to fist fight depression with hair dye back in February
Her: yes, I love it
Thing that make most people's brains chant "the cow as white as milk, the cape as red as blood, the hair as yellow as corn, the slipper as pure as gold": Broadway playlist.
Thing that makes my brain do the same: writing a professional bio
Trying to explain to my 12yo that in the 90s we willingly danced to a song that was just a guy mumbling "Around the world" over and over for 11 minutes
Living for someone's matante who is riding the zamboni during the Victoire second intermission. No idea who she is but she is having THE BEST time. #lphf #pwhl
You can do it!! π€ΈββοΈπ€ΈββοΈπ€Έ (I decided these dudes are cheerleader emoji. We are making fetch happen)
My kiddo wanted to see this movie called #Wicked ? Turns out it is not about enthusiastic Boston sports fans #popculturevoid
When your knitting makes it onto the jumbrotron at the Victoire game #madeit
Yesterday at the school bus stop in the dense soupy fog I got cut off with "I know what pathetic fallacy is mom" because apparently I have the narrative skills of an ENG 203 syllabus
Today in phrases that have probably never been said before: "I don't know, do we have any evidence for the fickleness of deer gods?" #religiousprofessionalsbelike
Thank you friend!! (and for putting together the list in the first place!)
SAME
What? You don't just constantly rewatch an infinite loop of star trek shows on netflix? No? Just me then? π€·π»
Good morning Philadelphia
Feel uniquely qualified as a multifaith religious professional to confirm that Advent is 100% Second Spooky Season
This is why I love discord #toomuchsocialmedia
Equally distinct from "it's 3am and I'm on the way to the airport" (hello from making my way to the TRUUsT retreat)
