Rathaliel was always the one who got lucky dice rolls and card draws when she was younger, and had a fairly charmed existence, but feels decidedly unlucky with major life events since and doesn’t play anymore. She’d expect the dice and cards to go against her if she did.

I don’t think so. It’s a different calendar from ours with different divisions of time etc, so it wouldn’t mean much anyway, and I haven’t decided whether I want to be that detailed. Also I don’t want to accidentally get the maths wrong, lol.

It all makes perfect sense as it unfolds - he wakes up on a spaceship with no memory of who he is or why he’s there, so you figure it all out as he does.

Watching the trailer is a bad idea! Forget everything you’ve seen. I read it knowing nothing about it except who the author was and LOVED it. It’s a very different story from The Martian but it does have similar kind of vibes and tone iirc.

I cannot WAIT for this movie! The book is so so good

They are weird. Mine decided that 4am was the perfect time to eat chips and read the witchy goth queer romance I was in the middle of. 🤷

Elyan and I are both neurodivergent AF, ace spec and GNC, though quite different flavours and expressions of the second two. Somewhat different expressions of neurodivergence as well, but we had very different upbringings & he has magic.

I never met either of my grandfathers, my dad’s mum died when I was three and my mum’s mum lived to almost 101!

My maternal grandma was a kindergarten teacher and raised two kids, after raising her sister. Poppa was a Presbyterian minister (hello religious trauma). My paternal grandpa I’m not entirely sure because he died long before I was born and was born in 1880! My paternal grandma raised five kids.

It’s also a misunderstanding of what autism as a spectrum means. It does NOT mean a spectrum from a little bit autistic to super duper autistic and everyone’s on it somewhere, it means autism is a spectrum of traits and behaviours that different autistic individuals have to different degrees.

I was obsessed with The Famous Five when I was very young and incredibly disappointed that no matter how many times I tapped every inch of wall in my parents’ house, I never found a single secret passage.

It might not be available in Aus generally - I had to import the paperback. Can’t see it available as an ebook generally, which is weird because the Royals and Romance series is on kobo.

I prefer reading with my eyes first too! Thanks anyway, but I think QLL is US only (I’m in Australia)

Such a good portrayal of the classical musical world, and violins in particular. Most of the people i went to school with and half of uni would have been lining up to sell their souls! 😂

Love my library, but don’t love the wait times! I’m still waiting on Heated Rivalry.
