metal eden was really slept on tbh, I very much enjoyed it. I hope the trend of "transactional" boomer-ish shooters keeps up

so I should probably turn this thing back on before GDC, huh?
every video game needs a photo mode
crazy to say but having seen a few friend's games get absolutely binned by their publishers this year I think that given the option, descoping until you can self publish would actually be the less risky decision at this point
ahhh thanks so much <3
PLAY THIS IT'S VERY GOOD

just remembered this, one hack I've been doing to "fix" windows is this autounattend.xml generator that you place on a windows install drive. it's what IT people use to set up massive deployments etc. you can basically turn off all the annoying windows features with it! schneegans.de/windows/unat...
as a mainly code person it's honestly fine, tools availability for more art forward folks might have a few gaps? I think the most annoying thing for me is that the OS freaks out about unsigned software constantly and there's no real way to turn it off
it's really funny to me that people are complaining about how annoying the traffic is in our cycling game lol
thanks roger can't wait to hear what you think of it
that would be Thomas Hoey! He's super talented and a really great collaborator. I don't think he has bluesky so here's his twitter x.com/ThomasHoeyAu...

love that game! high praise :)
hey y'all Wheel World is out! I've poured my blood sweat and tears into this game for the past four years, it would mean a lot to me for you to play it

honestly the river architecture tour is really good if you haven't done it before
can't believe Wheel World is out tomorrow. 4 years. Afraid/excited for everyone to play it and afraid/excited for the next chapter of my career

i feel like this is actually a long-term net positive for small indies making highly bespoke work. people are already sick of the scale-chasing in big games that are made with conventional tools, which is by definition the best result that AI tools _could_ accomplish
geez, nightreign is so good. no notes. most fun i've had in a multiplayer game in a long time. i actually really dig the pacing, kind of reminds me of a platinum game in a lot of ways. i wonder if any ex-platinum people worked on it
Wheel World is the game Iβm most anticipating this year. 100% a dream game Iβve always wanted to exist. store.steampowered.com/app/1497460/...
i want to hear about your bike game idea π
hey thanks for saying so <3
the Marathon alpha released recently and its environments are covered with assets lifted from poster designs i made in 2017.

it's wild how you can make a game that looks 50% better but performs orders of magnitude worse and has 10x the content bugs than the original, call it a remaster, and people will praise it
surrounded by concrete columns, this is a screenshot of the underbelly of the brutalist city
sunlight is shining through a series of concrete columns. in the distance you can barely make out dead trees.
a somewhat aerial view looking down at the streets of a brutalist city. the ground is covered in debris.
looking through an alley of brutalist architecture. just ahead is a stairway leading into a building.
an accumulation of screenshots from testing my procedural brutalist city...
it's coming together!
rn this is focused on generating building placement so that it is interesting to explore, and the building overlap is compelling. lots to do still π°π
