(Okay yes, I *am* reopening this discourse, because I will fight anyone in defense of automated traffic enforcement.)

But they do. There's data showing they do. This by someone who I think is less carceral than me and I'm betting does not own shares of Flock.

What you suggest likely works better. But they also take more time, face tougher political hurdles, so there are transition paths to think about too.

FWIW TA found that the program enjoys majority support in NYC, which rose over time. Other polling has show that support increases when people are prompted with safety messaging.
