Yup. Everyone that they signed was leaving. Finlay has a new kid, as you mentioned. He's said he wanted to be in the US more to be around his child. Clark is dating Thekla. Okada was done with NJPW management. Jay was done. Juice is married to Toni. Why should they not get paid their worth?

The thing is, every single person that AEW has signed from NJPW wanted to work in the US. It was either they sign with AEW or they go to WWE for much less money. Talent signed to AEW can still work NJPW (if they want), CMLL, and indies. Nothing wrong at all with this.

I think this is a case of a wrestler knowing their worth. It might be his dream to be in WWE, but he's not doing it for a hotdog, a handshake, and Spotify subscription. He knows if things go well after this deal he can go there, but he'll also make sure to bust his ass in AEW.
I'm excited for this signing. Gabe is a very good walk-and-brawler when not doing the "mad man" BS. Boss Dog has been great since settling into that role. And then there's Clark Connors. Oh, look at how talented and hot I am, with my hot girlfriend. Fuck you stupid, sexy Clark Connors.
Today was the VIP pre-sale for #AEWDON & tickets were really expensive. Later in the day, a bunch of non-VIP tickets were released and I scooped up 3! Cathy has off the next day for Memorial Day, and it's one stop on the 7 train from us. It's also my wife's b-day that week.

And techincally the former Powerhouse Hobbs, as far as main roster TV goes.
It also gives them their own crowd. When 75% of the people leave afte Dynamite or Collision, and the other 25% are dead, it makes it hard to watch. The people at these shows are there for ROH, so you’d expect them to care about the product they’re watching more.
