This is probably the most bizarre situation I’ve experienced as a journalist.
Our inboxes have seen an influx of news about upcoming local women-focused events, from women in construction careers to entrepreneurship and engineering. They’re all events geared towards increasing the number of women in these fields, which have long been dominated by men. #Editorial

Reno City Council approved a 14% franchise fee for Waste Management in a 4-3 vote to address a $24M budget gap. Residents will pay about $1.40 more per month starting in April. The vote follows a $2.25M legal settlement over commercial customer charges and years of audit and contract disputes.
When asked how they think news organizations should make money, 11% said through subscription or membership fees, while 45% said advertising and sponsorship.

Nevadans deserve a fair and impartial judicial branch. We'd get closer to getting one if we stop electing justices — most of whom voters know nothing about — and instead select them according to merit.
Fortunately, Nevada is already most of the way there.

The killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good by federal agents has sparked sharp reaction online and in the streets. In recent days, hundreds of commenters have defended the agents and repeated claims that video evidence does not support, including that Pretti pulled a gun.

Yep. This angle shows that what Bovino said — and what Trump, Miller, and DHS wrote —are lies. They’ve again murdered someone trying to help neighbors, and are again slandering that person. Not to cover anything up, but to project their power and impunity. To suppress dissent, and to set an example.
The official policy of the government of the United States of America is that they will murder anyone they want, that they will tell any lie necessary to justify that murder, and that no one who resists them has any rights they are bound to respect.
