Friday night, and I've lost part of my back tooth, while sitting w the dog. If I could play the blues I'd embrace this as creative material
@kurtpeacock
New Brunswicker who once spent a lot of time on the other place. Now looking at this place. Interests: cities, credit unions, nature, basketball As before and likely always, a champion of numerous losing causes

I am so old I really have no idea who #BadBunny is but I think if he wore a #superbowl tshirt that said PEURTO RICO SHOULD BE YOUR 51st STATE it would be baller and kind of funny at the exact same time
I NOW KNOW HOW LEAFS FANS FEEL PLEASE TURN THIS AROUND. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER. #WANTITALL
BASES LOADED SOMEONE CALL UP THE GHOST OF ROBERT REDFORD #WANTITALL
NOW ALL MY HOPES ARE ON THIS ERNIE WITT CLONE I HAD NO IDEA EXISTED THREE WEEKS AGO #WANTITALL

This squad certainly isn't as fun as the Expos, or the 92-93 Jays. They are fun however. I'm late to this bandwagon, but I really want them to win. They can even visit Rideau Hall for the LOLs #worldseries
Jackpot alert! My son Alex has joined the Canada Games basketball team that is competing in St John's NL in early August, and a 50-50 draw is being held to support team costs. Current jackpot is now 10K. Buy your tickets now to support some great kids: www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/baske...
I think it is in fact May 2026, it was pushed back a year because of muni reforms I think. The extra year was one of the reasons why the St Andrews mayor stepped aside early
As it often does, the important historic journal Acadiensis has an essay that reminds us of the amount of federal involvement on the matter of Mactaquac www.erudit.org/en/journals/...
what is not talked about enough is how so so so much of this infrastructure came with significant federal investment. Even if we are about to enter a new era of building things etc etc I am not sure as much federal $$ will be coming
Mark Carney used that stolen wifi to send a mass email invite to next year's Davos economic forum, downplaying the horrible logistics of regional airfare these days
In this turbulent world glad to see some good news. The Canada Games are returning to New Brunswick! Kudos to all involved in organizing the SJ-Moncton bid. Now to bring back Fiddle Edd!
I am told she has ties to the Kingston Peninsula somehow, but she has been working for an ON trades association. She has ties to the NB trades for sure, but I've never met her in my local travels (and I've met a lot of union folks) www.votemelissa.ca
I should add that 'home neighbourhood' means neighbourhood of his youth. Wayne lives in the new riding now, but I don't know if that is the case with the appointed Tory. I heard she lives on Kingston Peninsula, but I guess electionsCda docs will print official residence
I think the newspaper did a quick analysis when the ridings were first redrawn. Here in SJ, one of the reasons why Wayne Long pondered retirement (aside from disagreements with JT) was he was losing a natural voting base in the west side, his home neighbourhood. He'll still likely win w KV added
To be honest I am open to
better separation of capital and operating budgets but itβs sort of just an accounting wrinkle in the end
If PM Carney placed a Canada Flag on John Turnerβs grave as a campaign stop he would win 250 seats because of elbows up etc etc
This is a lot more nuanced and less schtick-y than the first take. Still, Mike Myers comes across as quite earnest - who would have thunk that celeb endorsements (a very unCanadian thing, I might add) would have some traction?
I think SJ-St Croix may be closer than we think, as the addition of West SJ changes the electoral calculus somewhat. Of all the 10 seats, this one feels most unpredictable
*thin link (darn spelling mistakes). At least I spelled Fak and not something else
I'm always late to every party, but just started watching the Bear and learned the chap who plays Fak was born in Saint John. It's a somewhat think link (kind of like Donald Sutherland RIP) but it's always fun to know when the cool kids are linked to your city
ππTransit Operator and Worker Appreciation Day!
A huge THANK YOU to the drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, and staff who keep our community moving safely every day. Your hard work doesn't go unnoticed!

oh man the weird cartoon series when he and a whole bunch of Hanna Barberra characters participated in Laff-O-Lympics was peak TV. The Pink Panther type was a better version of Howard Cosell. I've never seen anything as magical in decades www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcwL...
Happy #StPatricksDay Saint John! I used to post this historic photo of a leprachaun chilling by Partridge Island over on that other site, but the little guy seems much happier here

I know this is satire but to be honest I think Canada would be better off if this historic brand was given to Indigenous Nations instead of liquidated entirely
