Whether this is your first WeBike event (newbs welcome and encouraged!) or youβve been here all along, we want to show you our new The Street Trust offices, share what weβve got planned in 2026, collect your ideas, and distribute snacks and swag.
Weβll toast (with fizzy water) to a decade of inspiring, celebrating, and centering trans people of all genders, nonbinary people, and women (both trans and cis) to incorporate a bike into their lives and use biking as a way to meet their transportation needs and personal goals.

Starting your week with some good news, we're proud to share that Madi Carlson has been promoted to be The Street Trust's Program Director. Madi leads our education, engagement, & programmatic work. She shared some highlights so far:
Join us for the 15th Oregon Active Transportation Summit (OATS) at PSU as a speaker or presenter! OATS brings together government practitioners, nonprofit leaders, private sector experts, and advocates to advance innovative solutions in active transportation and public transit.
Strategic masterminds, the OR Democrats, think cutting safety funding for kids trying to get to school is the way to solve our transportation budget woes. Actually, the OPPOSITE is true: red or blue, urban or rural, safety for kids and families around schools is a TOP PRIORITY and BASIC NEED.
A screenshot of an Oregonian article with photo of me leading a bike ride, with Councilor Tiffany Koyama Lane to my right. The headline reads, Portlandβs annual New Yearβs Day bike ride sees pugs, city councilor riding in the rain.
HNY! Top billing from @oregonian.com for pugs on @thestreettrust.org New Years Day Ride π
Had the weather been better, Iβd have spent more time playing w/ the pugs, too. However, it allowed me the opportunity to chat more w/ @councilortkl.bsky.socialβsilver lining!

In retrospect, LAX wouldβve had more transit options than BUR for early morning, but 4am on a weekday between Xmas & NYE is definitely the best time ever for the 10mi ride from Glendale to Burbank. Everything so was amazingly quiet & empty, plus WOW thereβs some nice infrastructure near the airport
We're so close to today's mini-goal for Big E-Bike Day. If just 42 people give $30 before midnight, we'll be in good shape to continue our work to expand safe, accessible transportation for all Oregonians - especially the 30% of us who don't drive.

IT'S HERE, BIG E-BIKE DAY... along with your chance to win an amazing 2025 Tern HSD S00 e-bike from Splendid Cycles with every gift of $10 or more, but only before midnight tonight.
And costumes! Iβm taking us through Portland Art Museumβs new passageway so youβre encouraged to dress as your βmost artistic winter self.β
The party starts at noon on 1/1 at the Cart Blocks.
Will I climb atop by bike to capture the perfect group shot again? Probably, but come along to find out.
Portland: come celebrate the new year with me at the annual @thestreettrust.org New Yearβs Day Ride! Itβs my 5th year leading, but the 70th-ish overall π€©
