I remember swimming in the creek in Ithaca with a beaver slapping their tail nearby. Apparently, that's a warning to move out of their territory. We did! I've not seen a moose in the wild. We almost saw one in the Adirondacks years ago. Folks told us they had seen one, but it remained elusive.
A bit about donkeys in crowns and shimmering rainbows. β€οΈ

Fun lidded jar inspired by my cat and any other cat that loves boxes (all cats?!). π
One of my favourite pieces recently is this rather large cookie jar. I loved working on it and I love the way it came out. It's at Charlie Cummings Gallery right now. The lovely photos were taken by the gallery too. β€οΈ
I've always been a maker!
That's me, on the right, kneeling proudly, inside the fenced in yard of one of the homes I built for me and my friend, complete with trees.
I turn 55 today. My style hasn't changed much, it seems! π
I was at a friend's gathering yesterday and her chickens lined up a little like this when they were ready to check out what folks were doing. One by one they came up the rear of the group to investigate. It was so cute.

Super excited to share some of my favourite pieces at Charlie Cummings Gallery Wednesday morning! I hope they bring a bit of lightness and whimsy to your days. I hope you find something encouraging and relatable the characters' somewhat shy acts of bravery too. β€οΈ
Some feathered friends! β€οΈ
Yay!!
Thank you!
Aww. Thank you, Robin. β€οΈ
Some recent bowls from Charlie Cummings Gallery "Spring Teabowls" show. It was so fun to learn more about Japanese tea bowls, tea ceremony, and matcha as I was working on these. β€οΈ
Not only birds of a feather can stick together. β€οΈ

When I first started making illustrated plates, I wondered if they would be too busy for the food, but, with the ones we have and use, I find they actually bring a lot to the experience--kind of a shared story between the food and the vessel, if that makes any sense. ππ

I made 100 teardrop pieces each named after a body of water and one is called βGulf of Mexicoβ Iβve updated it, so this piece is βChalchiuhtlicueyecatlβ which is the name the indigenous people of the area originally called it.

I've been having fun making lidded jars! These two will be included in my feature at Charlie Cummings Gallery next month.

I have a online feature of some of my ceramic work coming up at the Charlie Cummings Gallery. It's in mid-March. I'm not sure of the exact date yet, but I will post it when I know. These mugs will be part of the collection. π
Thank you!
