Services that will connect Auckland’s Eastern suburbs with the Eastern Busway and serve suburbs like Flatbush and East Tāmaki are also included in the contract announced.

Well the hive-mind is not wrong. The people want climate adaptation, electrification, rail, and ferries, way before, massive road projects. And least of all- subsidised fossil fuel infrastructure.
#BREAKING #TrainNews: Waikato Regional Council has voted to continue the Waikato-Auckland Te Huia passenger train trial.
The decision was made in an 11-2 vote, with one abstention.
#TrainNews: Auckland Transport’s AM144 which has been in the Wellington paint workshops since late last year has emerged sporting AT’s Shore Blue livery.
The Shore Blue livery also features AT’s Tangaroa elements.

#BREAKING #TrainNews: Waikato Regional Council has today welcomed the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi Board’s decision to support a 12-month extension of the Waikato-Auckland Te Huia trial.
#TrainNews: In preparation for the upcoming CRL full network timetable testing, Auckland Transport have set the station and platform screens across the network to the CRL timetables and line names.

Bikes on busses: very good! Would prefer more instruction on step through frames though, I strapped my bike on very poorly on the way north and it nearly fell over several times, but strapping the bike near the rear had much better results. Looking forward to more busses having this in future!

No trains will operate between Kingsland and Waitematā and Newmarket to Waitematā until after midday.
#StationNews: Auckland Transport have announced they are officially moving away from the transitional name of Waitematā (Britomart) to just Waitematā.
Mana whenua gifted the name Waitematā Station for Britomart Station.
#TrainNews: Alstom has been selected to deliver 18 five-car battery electric multiple unit (BEMU) trains.
The Train fleet is to be named ‘Tūhono’, meaning connect or unite.
The fleet will be manufactured in India by Alstom and are scheduled to enter service from 2030.
Fingers crossed!! I think the AIR gets a bad wrap because it relies on the trains but with more reliable trains I really hope it gets more love
