City Rail Link’s $3.4 million marketing and PR bill questioned
Despite the millions spent on “communication”, the one thing Aucklanders remain none the wiser on is... when the CRL will actually open.
Why is spending a few million on advertising a $5.5b investment that is due to open this year a controversy...
...but spending ten times that on designing mega-roads that'll never get built is *never* questioned? 🤔

Well the hive-mind is not wrong. The people want climate adaptation, electrification, rail, and ferries, way before, massive road projects. And least of all- subsidised fossil fuel infrastructure.

Testing is meant to wrap up around the end of June, so I'd say expect a July-August opening

It's burst to the people in charge, they've realised there's no way to monetize this. Now when investors will actually realise this, who knows

Parker et al against Radio New Zealand
If you have a complaint about the editorial content of a newspaper, magazine or periodical in circulation in New Zealand (including their websites) you may complain to the Media Council.
*BREAKING: PLEASE REPOST*
The Media Council has upheld complaints against RNZ, finding that the article about Alex lacked balance and failed to present alternative perspectives, particularly once information about Alex's own voice became publicly available.

The secrecy of mega-projects - Greater Auckland
How is it that mega-projects costing billions get such little public involvement and scrutiny? That’s a question that Mayor Wayne Brown effectively hits on in
"Building a short section of cycleway, or proposing to take away a car park, gets more column inches in the media – and more scrutiny from both local and central government politicians – than any multi-billion-dollar mega-project ever experiences.
All of this is the opposite of how it should be."

I Mike Lee was correct about the city centre, that all it needs is to prioritise cars over people to thrive, then Newmarket, nothing but traffic and parking, would be booming. Reader, clearly this diagnosis is wrong:

Electric bicycle in parking rack on a bus, also with one strap attached.
Bikes on busses: very good! Would prefer more instruction on step through frames though, I strapped my bike on very poorly on the way north and it nearly fell over several times, but strapping the bike near the rear had much better results. Looking forward to more busses having this in future!

Screenshot of quote from article "A cyclist says he counted 87 humps on a 3.2km loop and gave up on plans to buy there". Assuming buy is a typo for bike
Can the cyclist not cycle on bumps? Are they riding a unicycle?
