How interesting. Just looked at your website and I see what you mean. I'm not sure exactly what the cover image is taken from and how it has/hasn't been manipulated but roughly yes, this is what a magnified thin section of a meteorite could look like.

The Meteorites by Helen Gordon β€” to catch a falling star An irreverent tour of the science and folklore behind the space debris that makes it to Earth and the people for whom these rare finds are almost a religion

'It is a book in which there is an infinite amount to explore but it’s Gordon’s eye for these human tales that keeps The Meteorites in focus'

The MeteoritesΒ byΒ Helen Gordon review β€” secrets of space rocks Tens of thousands of meteorites, some billions of years old, fall to Earth every year. Each one gives us a clue about how the planets came into being

β€œThat a 4.6 billion-year-old rock can travel for several hundred million miles to land outside a house in suburban Gloucestershire is a reminder that anywhere can be animated by magic.” I reviewed @helenlpgordon.bsky.social’s fascinating The Meteorites for the @thetimes.com: tinyurl.com/bde95ak3

Really enjoyed reviewing #TheMeteorites by @helenlpgordon.bsky.social . So what if all the tech bros use one as a million dollar paperweight? You can find your own micrometeorite on the roof of your local Tesco with a magnet and a sandwich bag... www.spectator.co.uk/article/a-pi...
