Filing political disengagement under “self-care” will never not be irresponsible to me. Self-care was always about preservation to stay engaged with what matters in life. Somewhere, it became permission to build a wall around your own ignorance and call it peace.

Relatable. In 9th art class I made a fishnetted, high-heeled leg out of papier mâché and, having never seen “A Christmas Story,” couldn’t understand why everyone kept asking where the lampshade was 🤣

Hosting trusted clients at home is the best because I feel like I’m being compensated to clean my apartment. An ADHD babe’s dream.

I’ve had so many suitors tell me in their applications that they’re awkward. But when we meet, they’re as charming as can be and conversation flows freely. Time spent with a companion is a chance to see yourself in a way that isn’t defined by the labels you give yourself ❤️

Featuring a foreword by Kathi Weeks and an afterword by Marla Cruz, this book consists of essays and dialogue from an intimate and diverse group of sex workers, including those who work or have worked in legal and criminalized sectors of the sex industry, providing a unique perspective on the challenges and triumphs of sex work, and the ways in which it intersects with broader social and economic issues.
"The authors insist on the
critical impact that intersections of gender, race, class, sexuality,
and disability have on the experience of sex workers."
just the tiniest, barest hint of the foreword written by kathi weeks (!!!!!!).

i hate my job edited by adrie rose forthcoming may 1, 2026
"These essays are sharp, juicy, and electrifyingly honest about misogyny, racism, classism, and hierarchy, within and without the sex industry. When the voices are this clear, it's no longer reasonable for non-sex-working academics and legislators to try to work around them."—Jo Weldon
"I Hate My Job is a stirring
"I Hate My Job dismantles tidy
rebuke of the girlbossification of contemporary high visible
neoliberal narratives about sex work sex workers as liberated cum-with vulnerability and precision?"
capitalist-landlord-moguls."
-January Santoso
—Ayanna Dozier
"I Hate My Job is a masterclass in the knowledge sex workers acquire both on the job and through their own collaborative practices of study, both in and out of the academy. It's also a book full of wit and insight and frank accounts of occupational hazards and rewards."
-McKenzie Wark

Person kneeling sideways on a chair in emerald green lingerie with garter straps, sheer black stockings, and red-soled heels, glancing over their shoulder with a confident expression in a softly lit bedroom.
Sometimes a “dream person” is less about looks and more about the feeling. Easy conversation, warm energy, a little teasing, a little mischief. The kind of connection where you catch yourself smiling and think, *oh… this might be trouble.*
Lucky for you, I’m very good trouble. ✨

I promise you that the cure to feeling totally insane every time you look at the news is to A) be active in your own community. Not just chilling with people, but being genuinely useful to those in need. And B) don't look at the news. This idea of "witnessing" as praxis is bullshit.

I have much to share in the coming days! Here are some ways I see SWW growing over the next couple of years 2026-2027. Do any of these goals speak to you?

Extremely funny to hear "900 people would lose billions but still be rich and every single member of the middle class--millions of people--would get a check big enough to not have to stress about rent for a month or two" portrayed as a BAD thing
