As Council member, this session Team #KingdomNL promotes Freedom of Religion, protects Human Rights Defenders, focuses on the human rights situation in Ukraine, Belarus, Myanmar and DPRK, and leads initiatives on Freedom of Expression and Syria.

Today #KingdomNL expressed its deep dismay over the findings of the Fact-Finding Mission report on El Fasher, Sudan.
To push for protection of civilians the Sudan Core Group 🇬🇧🇩🇪🇳🇴🇮🇪🇳🇱 announced the Coalition for Atrocity Prevention and Justice on #Sudan.

The 🇺🇳 Human Rights Council has kicked off in Geneva.

On the very day our new government takes office, and 🇳🇱 ministers are inaugurated by His Majesty the King, we welcome DutchMFA Director Multilateral Affairs at #HRC61.

We will make our last year as member of the Council count.

We formalised the important partnership of #KingdomNL and @who.int to improve access to medical care for patients from Gaza by strengthening medical capacity in the region.

🙏Grateful for WHO’s commitment to provide essential medical treatment, products, training & logistical support.

Following #KingdomNL’s review on the UN women’s rights Convention (#CEDAW), we will receive recommendations how to further advance.

Progress has been made, but major gender gaps persist.

We take these recommendations seriously and remain firmly committed to strengthening gender equality.

It's the Intl. Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation.

In 2026, 4 million girls are at risk globally, 22.7 million more girls will be at risk by 2030 if no action is taken.

FGM is a human rights violation. #KingdomNL reaffirms its commitment to #EndFGM to protect every girl.

🔹Adopt & integrate (inter)national instruments to protect & prevent VAWG, address persistent gender stereotypes.
🔹Uphold fundamental freedoms, e.g. decriminalise defamation & adopt a bill on access to public information.

🔹Adopt anti-discrimination legislation that prohibits discrimination based on SOGI.

We will continue to stand up against antisemitism and hatred in all its forms.
