I think a good argument could go either way, but I stand by what I said. She made no conscious pact and instead used learning of symbol and language to figure out how to cast magic the way that others can naturally.

The NES was my first console and while I played it to death, it's one of my least favorite eras to go back and to revisit.
I was desperate for a SNES but my parents wouldn't buy me one until the n64 came out but they offered to trade it for that.
PS1/PS2 probably had the biggest effects on me.

There's way too much soulless technology that we interact with in our day-to-day now. I think that artistry could be worked into these things if people cared enough. But companies simply don't. Beauty is devalued in favor of the Almighty dollar. Cutting corners and creating a worst user experience.
I think there's something inherently more beautiful and artistic about the technologies that haven't yet achieved their perfect form. Some of it is the artistic effort that goes into it, some of it is also simply the pursuit. The final form hasn't been realized, so everyone strives to find it.
But in both cases aren't the older technologies more interesting? Like I said, there was invention there was beauty. You could see the craftsmanship that went into each one. It wasn't just another soulless rectangle. There was art.
You guys remember The matrix phone? How wild was that. A movie tie in cell phone designed completely from the ground up.
What we have in both cases are instances of technologies that were eventually perfected. It's hard to do better than what each respective technology has become. So there's not much in the way of innovation anymore.
Now look at these old cell phones from the age before iPhones standardized the way that we interact with our phones.
Look at these old lighters. These all predate the modern Bic and Zippo lighters that we're used to. Each shows an individual engineers creativity, they're unique way of looking at the world.
Tried reading The Sword of Shannara because I've been itching for classic fantasy. It made me just want to read Wheel of Time again.

For the most part my discover feed is people I already follow, so I'm not sure I see the point in having it.
I've been sorting through my old game systems and games and one thought occurred to me. I wish I could delete the achievements of any particular game so I could go back and experience trying to earn them again.
If my own rights can be stripped with the passing of a federal budget, then your own rights are neither god-given nor inalienable.
